Operation Infinite FReep in Fresno, California (11-22-02)
11/22/02

Posted on 11/22/2002 10:15:57 PM PST by mtngrl@vrwc

Tonight's FReep of the peaceniks in Fresno, CA was the best one ever! Once again, ninety-eight members (!) of the youth group of the Assembly of God church in Riverdale, Ca joined the nine FReepers who were able to attend tonight's rally. What wonderful young people they are! They spread out onto the three corners of Fresno's busiest intersection that the peaceniks weren't using, and when the peaceniks left, they took over their corner as well. They brought flags and hand made signs with them and they shouted "USA, USA, USA" and cheered every time someone drove by and honked.

That said, I have to say that the verdict is in --- Fresno, California stands firmly behind the troops and President Bush! If you all could have heard the honking and supportive remarks tonight from those driving by! It was absolutely awesome and knocked our socks off at times!

After the church group joined us tonight, Chadsworth called one of our local television stations and said, "Hey I was just driving by the corner of Shaw and Blackstone in Fresno and there are a bunch of people standing out on the street. What's up?" And they said they would send someone out to find out what was happening. Pretty soon they showed up with cameras and all, and they went from corner to corner and filmed the patriots who were celebrating living in the greatest country on earth. They also interviewed Jim Rob. I think they were from Channel 24. I don't get local television where I live, so those who do will have to fill us in after the nightly news in on at 11 o'clock.

Flags were waved tonight, cheers were led over a bull horn, and all around, a great time was had by all!

The Freepers who were able to attend tonight's rally were:

Also present was Miguel, who attends every week I think. Thanks Miguel!

To those who were able to come tonight, thanks! We missed those who were unable to attend and hope you can make it next week.

This is encouraging and interesting.
As I noted to "MistyCA" (IIRC) on another thread, I've noticed that the
pacifist/anti-war crowd that turns out for protests in West Los Angeles (at our
Federal Building on Wilshire Blvd.) seem to be, well accuse me of "ageism", OLD.

All I can think is that they are the 1960's hippie/leftie/druggie crowd
having their last "Give Peace A Chance" tour before they start scoping out retirement villas.

It seems that the younger crowd is turning out for supporting the country...
(noted on KRLA 870AM's Hugh Hewitt Show by Minn. Senator-elect Norm Coleman, as he
said the strength of his campaign was a crew of enthusiastic 20- and 30-somethings).

Thank you, everyone, for your encouraging words and support. It means a lot to us.

I wish each one of you could be with us to experience the exhilaration of such a fantastic display of patriotism and the reaction from the passing motorists. At least, through the pictures and sound clips, you can get a feeling of how exciting our Friday rallies are. And, this one was THE BEST! The energy and enthusiasm of ninety-eight young people cheering and chanting for America was something to behold....and something I will never forget!
