Very good analysis. It was the personal humiliation of Bush achieving several historic victories right on Li'l Tommy's watch that put Tommy in a pantytwist.

He's been driven insane, not by Rush, but by the fact that his own Rat Senators decided they'd gotten the message loud and clear from the American people and they'd better not be seen as obstructionists to our war-time President.

The Senate was no longer in session, hence, the argument that Vacant Lott could have carried the water is simply false-to-fact.

The day after Talent is confirmed senator in Missouri,and daschle adjourns the senate, Bush calls a special session of CONGRESS.

It reorganizes with LOTT as majority leader and the stuff gets passed. It reorganiszes becuase the Republicans now have a majority.

I used Kurtz's book Media Circus as a source for a paper I did once. Kurtz works hard to be seen as an objective media critic--even though he tilts very left.
For Kurtz to back Limbaugh in this tactical battle is devastating for Daschle. The other media will join the herd mentality---and declare Limbaugh the winner.
