Freepers all over the nation were protesting during that Florida "Supreme" court fiasco period -- one way or another.

I was with a few hundred other Freepers on Wilshire Boulevard outside the Federal Building in Los Angeles when the U.S. Supreme Court decision overriding the Florida decisions came down.

Those Freeper protests were noticed, and they were effective.

I think I was a FR lurker at that time. While visiting my folks in MD at Thanksgiving, I convinced my 80 yr old Dad to drive my brother and me over to see what what was going on.

We then made a circumnavigation of the NO on foot finding the "secret" back entrance. No whale noises or other counter-measures were observed coming from the property. Lots of positive responses from those driving by though. We had Gore surrounded!

In point of fact, the Republican Party did not organize the protests, nor were "busloads" of protesters sent in by other groups. The protests against the inventor of the Internet were organized on the Internet.
