They are reacting to that nagging fear that somehow, somewhere somebody is having a good time, maybe even better than the time they're having.
Some people enjoy showing off their good looks, others enjoy watching. VS sells stuff to make it even more fun. But there is always some group dedicated to trying to stop others from the pursuit of happiness.

So? Some of the daytime soaps are pretty bad, and those are shown in the middle of the day. What about all these teenage girls that go around the malls with jeans that are so low that their butt cracks are almost showing? If people are offended by what's on TV, they can always change the channel, surf the net, or read a book.

eew...just leave it ok?

She looks to me like someone sliced open the chest area and jammed two softballs inside the tight skin. No kidding....a lot of these models are 6 1/2 feet tall beanpoles and just look very odd to me. And what's with Heidi Klum's hips?
I would very much like to have bodies like some of those models, but the gargantuan chicks like Elle et al look like walking hatracks to me.

ABC passed to broadcast it this year. In fact there were over 900 complaints to the FCC on account of the show.
I don't know if it was in good or poor taste, I didn't see it last year, although they did have to digitize some "stragetic body parts" during the show.

Sure. Most people don't know that this stuff is on TV so early. If you know and don't mind your pret-teen or teen watching this, then fine, its your choice.
I think the issue is that many people do not know what is being aired on TV and that many parents don't know what the content of these TV shows are.

Then I'd say these parents need to 'edumacate' themselves. I am aware of what I want my pre-teens to watch and what they are not allowed to see. I also know how to program my DirecTV receiver to block out programming during certain hours on certain channels. It's really not that hard to figure out what's on a tv schedule on a daily basis.

I like Victoria's Secret and ordered a few things from there. Me too. VERY cute stuff.
NOW is just angry because none of them couldnt fit one smelly fat toe in anything at Victoria's secret.
They keep forgetting that the rest of us girls want to look pretty :-)

Seriously, some doctor needs a malpractice suit for those cabbages, eh?
I always thought the purpose of getting some work done under the hood was so that no one KNEW you had some work done under the hood, ya get?

Ref. Post #65.
Thank you for your comment.
Yes, there were a lot of complaints. But those of us who saw it couldnt figure out why. I find many of the regular fashion shows to be disgusting and offensive, something I couldnt say about last years Victorias Secret. Maybe it was the competition that was complaining. Success always has its detractors...those who wish to see one fail.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should add that I work for the Parents Television Council. I normally don't put our stuff up on FR, but I thought this would make for a fun thread.

If I was a lesbian...
I guess you can call me a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
Now I need to go to Wild Oats. First let me listen to some Indigo Girls as I put on my Birkenstocks...

The issue is that this is going to be aired on network TV at 9pm.Horse hockey. With a 200+ cable channel universe (and even if you don't have cable/satellite, you've got at least the four major networks plus PBS to choose from), this is ridiculous.
And finally, in the event your television's tuner is broken and stuck on CBS (heaven forbid!!), there's always the other knob on the television: The OFF switch.
That being the case, the protestors truly need to stop trying to tell me what I can and cannot watch. I am at least intelligent enough to make that decision for myself and my family.
