He's whining because the Senate refused to pass his amendment to the Homeland Security bill.

How can they filibuster when cloture has been invoked? I don't know the senate rules but this is getting ridiculous. They are all talking about disaster assistance for farmers.

Yuppers, my thoughts exactly. Stabenow (Dim from Michigan) just stated "This is out last chance......", which about says it all. They just have to whine about anything they can find to whine about.
To: Dog
Could be but there must be some time limits, yes?
I was flipping through the channels and all the media libs are talking about the bag of "goodies" the republicans are giving big business. Aaaarghhh!

The Sound of Music. Why are they talking about disaster assistance. Is this is some bill or something?

Who put disaster relief in the HS bill? Is this a Baucus (RAT from Montana) amendment?

Oh...I sort of remember reading something about that. So, why are they talking about it now? Is it subject to a separate vote or what?

Actually, I'm sure Baucus was involved but I think it was really the brain child of Daschle and Johnson (D-SD) so he could use it for votes during the campaign.

I already figured it was there to "buy votes", but I wanted to know for sure who was buying them. Thanks.

Good grief....Now he's conjuring up Wellstone. They'll use anything.....
To: Dog
That's what I thought. It was Daschle's plan to help Johnson with his re-election campaign.
Again, though, if it's in the bill and cloture has been invoked, why are they talking about it?
I guess I need to learn the senate rules. LOL!
