How is the vote going? Ben Nelson of Nebraska a critical vote. If they are voting on the Daschle amendment, we need lots of NO votes.

Is not Homeland Security just rearanging deck chairs on the Titanic? With Powell wanting to bring more moslems in, Bush's religion of peace. and open borders why bother...<*bitter>

Miller will probably vote against it, cancelling out McCain.

Watch Collins. She may follow McCain. And watch Landrieu. She's got an election to worry about.

I hope that Cheney is in the building. He may be needed.

Exactly. Daschle said thousands of Americans would be denied their right for compensation. He said they had been wronged and then changed that statement to "they believe they have been wronged." This is a lawsuit by 12 families as I understand it and is a way to get around a law that doesn't allow you to sue vaccine manufacturers for more than a certain amount for emotional damages or something to that effect. It was put into law because there are only 2 manufacturers of vaccines left after the trial lawyers bilked the other 10 out of all their money. Some tricky trial lawyers found a way to get around the law by saying the preservative in the vaccines is what made their clients sick(autism I think). This has not been proven.

One provision...Removes list of criteria universities must meet to part of Homeland Security research. Everything in the amendment appears to be for special interest groups.
