Well there is the little matter of his chairmanship of the Commerce Committee.

Chairmanship? What chairmanship? He don't need no steenking chairmanship!

I have to change the channel or turn it off-when Byrd starts talking-- You can usually figure it's going to be a longggggggggggggggggggg speach-when he starts.

He is like a crazy, sad Foghorn Leghorn, or like a skin Faulkner shed and someone carnie found and preserved as best he could.

I think this was a means of getting a start on tort reform early. I expect it will be handled as you wish this next year. I predict this is gonna be a really bad year for the Trial Lawyers, NEA and ACLU/People for the American Way!

I hope so brother...I want some PAYBACK!

He still maintains that he will run again. If he loses the GOP primary, he'll merely run as an independent and still win. The Dems never run anybody against him-- it's pointless; so the Republican nominee will be his challenger. There are plenty of Democrats and independents that will re-elect him.

2004. I heard a rumor that Rudy is going to run against him. Don't know if that's true or not.

Schumer is up in 2004. This is why I want the GOP convention in NYC and entice Rudy into running against Chuckie in 2004.

You watch, Dog, Bush wants to win NY in 2004. They may throw in the towel on California, but they are going to make a major effort in PA and NY.

I think we have lots of opportunity in the 2004 elections. If W remains popular and the economy rebounds, then his coattails will be huge! If he can demonstrate that he and the GOP Congress can govern and lead, he will have the upper hand. I think there are 19 Dem senators up in 2004 but only 14 GOP senators so the odds are with us already.

My favorite targets for defeat: Murray, Boxer, Daschle, Hollings, Leahy, McCain, Graham (FL), Edwards, Schumer. Oh, wouldn't it be SWEET??!!

Perhaps he should wait until 2006 when he can take Hillary out. That would finish her forever.

The usual suspects voted against Homeland Security

So far no votes I have caught Byden, Boxer, Byrd, Schummer, Miss Stabanow, Murray, I know there were others but didn't catch them.

Hitlery is up in 2006....and I wouldn't doubt that Guiliani would run and have a real chance of winning in 2004....he's very well liked. I would work for his campaign up here in upstate NY, that's for sure.

Some of the RATS didn't get the message of the election, did they? That's good news for us.

Liberal journalists are saying he will run against Bush in 04 as a RAT or Independent.

I don't believe it. He won't switch parties and the independent thing doesn't work. I think McCain realizes he had his chance and couldn't seize it, thankfully due to the intelligence of the Republican voter.

Actually only two things can happen in 2004-- a complete collapse of the GOP (in the House, Senate and presidency) or a complete GOP tidal wave. We have the keys to power now and so the voters will summarily rebuke all of us if we fail. So, if the GOP tidal wave occurs, McCain will be completely unneeded for our governance. If it doesn't, McCain is not going to be tops on our worry list.
