The U.S. Supreme Court has finally put an end to the year-long misuse of public funds by the notorious Mary Frances Berry, head of the U.S. Commission of Civil Rights.

Without comment, the court yesterday declined to review a unanimous ruling of the U.S. Court of Appeals that forbade Berry from blocking President Bush's appointment of Peter Kirsanow to sit on the commission.

You may be right about the budget process. What Berry hates is to be ignored. I say give her what she hates.

"...let...anybody who showed up...vote, count the votes, and check the validity later."

They actually tried that, here in Maryland. They STILL couldn't get enough stuffed balot boxes to elect Townsen.

Dump her. She's a drain on the budget.

"Nits grow to lice" someone famous once said, in other circumstances, but the quote itself still applies here.

Any liberal can use any government job as a platform upon which to leverage credibility and gather financial, media and other resources from which to make a run for some elected office or another.

Dumping and defunding excess bureaucracy is always a good antedote to long term liberal agenda everywhere.

Diogenesis claims:   "[Court] prevent[s] US citizens from ever patenting instruments capable of looking for alternative energy sources."

Source??? Are you sure you're not taking about blocking patents for so-called "over unity" energy sources?

The Court has wrongly blocked patents measuring thermal output and measuring loading of hydrogen into metals.

Quite different from any such process to which you refer.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Send her to prison for exceedingly egregious air pollution and noise pollution.

- at the expense of probing genuine civil-rights issues.

Would someone PLEASE give me an example of a modern-day "genuine civil-rights issue"?

The only ones I can think of involve stifling of conservative voices on college campuses, and the prevalence of black-on-white "hate crime."

Anyone?

bingo...that's the way to go...it's the president's commission and W could easily make the case that racist Berry has misused her power

Bush will never try to fire her before the end of her term. The liberal media would frame such an action in racial terms and hammer him as doing it as an act of racism. Sure it wouldn't be true but Bush knows he doesn't need that kind of distraction. So W will just wait until 2005 and appoint someone else to replace her once her term expires. It's the politically smart thing to do.

Why defund it?
If it is an executive function, why not just eliminate the commission?

For some reason I think the Chair is elected by the members. It is supposed to be a bi-partisan commission, but it was really 3 Dem's and 3(?) independents (actually undeclared Dem's like berry herself). Now I think they may be able to remove her from the chairmanship, wouldn't that be a hoot. Have this commission represent the interests of conservative minorities for a while and just ignore Marry Berry, maybe she would just self-destruct.

I would rather have dinner with Carville.

Only if he's the main course. And even then, I'd just stick with the salad.

I say keep her around. Grins...

Leftists are good for comic relief, but only if they hold no positions of power.
With government power, they can make life hell for anyone they dislike (people with a certain lack of melanin, in this case).

Thanks for posting this kattracks. I've been waiting to find out the final disposition of this case.

This POS, Mzzzzzzz. Berry is such a blatant idiot. She has about as much tact as an AR-1 without a muzzle flash suppressor. Now she doesn't even have a firing pin.
