actually, if such a deal has been cut, it seems they are already breaking their part of the deal, at least three or four times a week... tonight at the soccer stadium. etc.

putin just wants our approval for what he NEEDS to do in order to protect his sphere of strategic influence.

Sounds to me like he is asking for help in wiping out the scumbuckets of islam. But crying out to the 'west' as in france, germany and iraq... is a waste of his efforts.

It should be added that if our leaders were willing to actually do something, we wouldn't need to trust the Russians for more than two to three years at the outside. But you will not likely see such leadership because of the inability of the White House and the military at this stage to talk to anyone other than those that are the obstruction and the problem.
