Daschle Beat Bush in Election, Aide Claims
NewsMax ^ | 11/17/02 | Limbacher

He may have lost his post as Senate Majority Leader and cost his fellow Democrats control of the Senate, but at least one advisor to soon-to-be Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle is calling last week's Democrat election debacle a victory.

"They [Bush and Daschle] went head to head for all intents and purposes, and Daschle won," the top Senate Dem's unnamed aide told the Washington Post Sunday.

He was referring to the South Dakota Senate race, which was widely billed as a contest between surrogates for Bush and Daschle.

Last week Republican candidate John Thune inexplicably conceded defeat to Democrat Tim Johnson without demanding a recount, even though the final tally showed Thune just 500 votes down in a contest swirling with allegations of Democratic Party vote fraud.

As usual, the Donkey Party has mistaken Thune's political graciousness for weakness, and is now calling the possibly stolen election was a significant win.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I think Thune has confused the private good (doing what is best for his own future political career) with the public good (doing what is best for honest elections, the party, and the people who worked and voted for him).

According to Democrats...

- Water isn't wet...

- If the needle is pointing to E and the car stops moving, it must be because all four tires suddenly went flat at exactly the same time...

- He didn't have sexual relations with that woman...

- etc..etc...etc.

The aide also claimed that the heroin-laced marijuana he was smoking was "the best high" he'd ever had.

Dashole won by voter fraud and only because of voter fraud.

He won the same way Albore tried to win in Florida, and WOULD have won if it had not been for the courage and diligence of Florida FReepers and the U.S. Supreme Court.

If they want to call it a victory, they can. The rest of the country (those with brains enough to tie their shoes, anyhow) know better.

This aide should mosey on over to DUmmyland and repeat the "we won" sentiment.

He may need to go to the hospital after they stone him.

You mean the DelUsionals wouldn't believe him?

The President should give a very gracious congratulations to Sen Daschle.

"I would like to congratulate him on his victory.... but you'll forgive me if I'd rather be in my shoes than in his?"

"As long as we keep the Senate, both of their days are numbered."

Wish you were right, but I'm afraid South Dakota is stuck with both of them, or at least Daschle, until he no longer wants to be there.

All he has to do to remain in office is to make sure he cooks up enough fraudulant votes in advance of the count, and he's home free. He got away with it again, no one will challenge him, and now he's taunting his opposition, and their honesty and graciousness.

Look for more if it in more states next time (we're rewarding the behavior by not challenging the obvious fraud). The only hope for an actual challenge to the Daschle Sovereignty is for the entire registration/voting system to be completely overhauled and rebuilt with secure fraudproof technology. We demand it with our checks and credit cards, why not with choosing those who represent us in government and policymaking?

Oh, I forgot. Some people might be "disenfranchised....."

It's going to take a thunderous outrcy and persistant demand from the voters, loud enough to be heard over the deafness of the mainstream media.

Anyone have any specific ideas?

"Johnson's new term won't expire 2009."

This is why I'm impatient. I don't want this fraud in the Senate with his butt-buddy Senator "Roadblock" Dasshole roadblocking and voting against everything to help the country including tax relief and just, righteous , conservative judges.

Call me greedy and call me impatient, but I'm only greedy and impatient for good things for this country and Johnson ain't one of them, nor is Senator "I'm Disappointed" Dashole.

This is nothing but spin on the part of Daschele and company. One state does not win the elections. Sen Daschele needs to take a look at the entire election. He was beaten, period. He would have lost South Dakota if the dead people were not allowed to vote. The margin of difference is questional enough a recount could have happed but John Thume felt it was in the best interest of the state not to challenge it. Besides Thume can run against Daschele in 2004. Daschele would be in trouble if if does. Course Daschele can take the easy way out and not run.

Oh really; when Daschle has to give up his seat to run for President, SD's Republican Gov will appoint Thune to take his place. What's so bad about that. In fact, I think this might have been a setup all along. Not that they hoped to lose, but they knew what the long term result would be.

The new law in SD says you cannot run for 2 positions at one time (like Loserman did in Conn - when he lost as VP, he still had his senate seat). New repub Gov. signed law.

I can relate to many posts here and believe a lot comes down the misery aspect of the Leftists. Consider the basis for their focus, nothing is either current or in the future. How often is slavery and oppression used to create racial divisions in our minorities? Imagine the soul of FDR regime ever dying. Hillary for president? Pelosi in power, earning it the old fashion way, through corruption. And no consideration of breaking loose from the ideals which have slowly manifested within. Realize that today Dashole will sit in front of a camera, on national television, and lie. It no longer matters. The Leftists will break the law and tell America how satisfied they were with the results. Read what Dashole said concerning the NJ results! He broke the law, and while smiling on national television told us how wonderful it was. A true victory for our nation!
