The paralell to Rome is intentional. Rome had an uncanny ability to bring fear to the hearts of barbarians everywhere. We have the uncanny wisdom of not wishing to have anyone's territory, so our nation can last much longer than the old Empire did.
But Romans, like Americans, excelled in the practice of warfare. Romans understood that ninety percent of warfare is logistics. Americans know that in their bones.
Neither Romans nor Americans were romantic about war. Both peoples were hardheaded and practical. The Arabs are entranced by faith and self-immolation, wrapped up as they are in their death cult of martyrdom.
And if our homeland is nuked, trust me, our response will make those Arabs left alive envy the dead. They haven't seen mass murder. They have no idea what the West is capable, partly because they've been watching too much TV and are convinced we are soft.

They pray to a pagan moon-god rock, and promise mass murderers an eternal orgy in their heaven with 72 virgins.

I'm with you, ATOMIC_PUNK, while our leaders think that these people are peaceful, and we are just suppose to be sitting ducks. I think not. Their purpose is to take over the world, that has been said too many times. They can leave my world alone and I am tired of being threatened.

Compared to the Japanese and Germans, the Islemmings are a bunch of pansies.
That's why their favorite target is women and children.
Israel has between 300 and 400 nukes, depending on which source you read. If the Arabs even attempt to "eliminate" them, every last one of them will be vaporized within seconds. ...And I'm fairly certain the Arab "intellectuals" - an oxymoron if there ever was one - know this all too well.

But do the romantic Arabs, the fanatics who want to actually use nuclear weapons, care? I think not.
We do not deal with people versed in Aristotle's The Politics, here. These people are gripped by a fantasy ideology of martyrdom and destruction of the Westerner, patron of the hated Jew.
They hold on to their sense of grievance as if it were a pair of shoes they could not bear to part with.
And they must hold on to the grievance and the hate because America and Israel are constant reminders of how backward and bush league they are!
So they place their hopes in the likes of bin Laden. Bin Laden t-shirts and coffee mugs, plates and portraits, are the hit of the Arab souk. Pictures of Hitler, Himmler, and Heydrich adorn the walls of teahouses all over the Arab world.
Believe me, these people would dance in the streets the minute they heard that New York or Washington had been hit with a nuke.
They would party.
For about a half hour.

Actually stuff like this is more likely to be them jerking our chain. (Not a good idea to jerk the chain of the Big Dog, especially when that chain isn't really fastened to anything substantial). The traffic analysis that the NSA does on the stuff hoovered up by the military units reporting to NSA, and NSA itself, is much more likely to mean something. Altough it too could be a "chain jerk", it's less likely because every com is a possible lead towards capturing the communicater, or terminating him by a Hellfire up the posterior.
