Palestinians in Gaza celebrate Hebron massacre

In the Shati refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, dozens of Islamic Jihad supporters celebrated the news Friday of the Hebron attack that killed 12 Israelis and wounded 13.
The supporters rushed into the streets in celebration, some firing in the air.
"This is retaliation for the daily crimes and massacres committed by the Zionist occupation against our people," one armed man said over loudspeaker.
The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack in a call to the Al Jazeera telivision station, saying that it was in response for the killing of an Islamic Jihad leader Iyad Sawalha in Jenin by IDF troops earlier in the week.
The attack comes as Fatah and Hamas are reportedly discussing a three-month cease-fire in Cairo. Islamic Jihad is not part of the talks - and even an agreement in those talks would not have stopped Friday's attacks; a possible moratorium would not apply to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, where all Palestinian groups view soldiers and settlers as legitimate targets.

Islamic Jihad is Iran's hand in Israel.
Khameini must be trying to stir up another crisis in hopes of provoking another Middle East crisis and buying himself some more time to put down dissent at home before the US invades Iraq.

And the networks claimed that there was no celebrating in Gaza after 9-11. I'm willing to bet there was.

Maybe we'll murder some people today, maybe we won't. Its on the table. Maybe we'll wait 3 months, then we'll start murdering more people and the world will hail us as peacemakers.

There was by Palestinians. There are photos. All video was destroyed by the Palestinian Authority who refused to allow press to film people marching around after the attacks in 9-11-01

There was. I saw a film clip of Palestinians dancing in the streets on NBC, ABC and the BBC.

Once again prooving the simple point:
If Arafat controls the killers, why deal with him ?
If Arafat does not control the killers, why deal with him ?

The Hebron massacre, or some similar outrage in Hebron, may be the last straw for Israel. Although Hebron was part of the territory ceded to the PLO, there were provisions in the Oslo agreements for a Jewish presence there, because it is undoubtedly the second holiest spot in Judaism (second to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem). It is the cave of Machpelah, the Tomb of the Patriarchs, which, according to Scripture, was purchased with cash by Abraham and therefore legitimately owned by the Jewish people. During the British Mandate the Arabs prevented all Jews from worshipping there. Under the Jordanian Occupation no Jews got anywhere near it. Under the Israeli Administration it was divided into a small synagogue and a mosque; once a year, on some Arab holiday, the Jews had allowed the Arabs access to the Jewish portion but they stopped after several years because the Arabs consistently vandalized the synagogue and destroyed all the holy books, finally the Jews had to post armed guards inside the synagogue to prevent break-ins.
Hebron is important enough that Israel might go to war over it.

I thought that the Passover massacre would be the last straw for Israel. A lot of the post-Zionist liberals like Benny Morris finally came to their senses as well after that, and understood that this is no longer a policy debate, its a fight for survival.

There are no last straws for Israel, since they are our client and can only take steps when we approve it.
