"And my whole attitude was, like, "We've got to fight back harder. And where are our crowds?" And my dad, I'll never forget his response. He said, "We have to do what's best for the country, and it is not good for the country to have this kind of divisiveness. And he was on the phone, really calling off the dogs. There were people who wanted to fan the … the flames of the racial issue and have real unrest. And he was on the phone asking them not to..."

Troubling. Could this be an admission from Karenna that she and her fellow Democrat campaigners wanted to incite civil unrest by playing the race card?

KRISTEN GORE: The crowds that were screaming outside our house, you know, "Get out of Cheney's house." And other things … of that nature, were really upsetting.

I think you should in person or freepers via email should set the record straight. We in no way yelled anything profane as the gore's imply that we did. We yelled "sore loserman", "learn how to vote", "gore is a chad abuser", "con---cede", "mean spirited, arrogant, condescending liberals", and a few others I can't remember, but there was nothing profane or upsetting about it. It was the democrats driving by that were yelling "no to drunk presidents" and giving the traditional democrat "one finger salutes" to us.

After Gore's concession speech, they forgot to mention our chants of "thank you Al". The next time we see gore, unfortuneately, I think we shall have to chant "gore is a liar" because it is true.

Thanks to the DC Chapter for organizing the bus transportation;^) It was extremely effective.

AL GORE: There were a few, more than a few who supported us and were offended by the organized chanting round the clock who came out on the other street corner during the day to express their support with signs, and...

KARENNA GORE:...."We've got to fight back harder. And where are our crowds?" And my dad, I'll never forget his response. He said, "We have to do what's best for the country, and it is not good for the country to have this kind of divisiveness.

One Gore contradicting another? Get your lies in order.

The utter comtempt these cretins have for the intelligence and memory of the American voter is sickening.

To paraphrase a former president: "These lies will not stand."

Hail to the courageous Freepers who demanded the expulsion of the Democrat usurpers!

Oh Really! Surely not the peace loving Democrat Party? Wanting to start race riots? Come now.

I certainly hope the RNC is taping this interview for future commercial use.

Gee how shocking, a democrat admitting that racial manipulation for democratic gain goes on .......

I didn't know the GOP had organized that and had a buses too. I heard about on FR and drove myself.

KARENNA GORE: Well, when we were in the Vice President's house during the recount, it was it was very intense . . . . it was definitely Bush-campaign-oriented effort to bus in people to have a sort of siege at the Vice President's house.

Weird. She calls her dad "the Vice President." Does this remind anyone else of Chad Condit constantly referring to his dad as "Gary Condit" or "Gary?"

Democrat spawn give me the creeps.

Here is a great anecdote:

I was in the car in Orange County, listening to talk radio of course, when the Supreme Court ruling came down. Very shortly thereafter, Algore decided to concede. ABC news came on and they had a clip of him talking about his Christmas party that evening. (Paraphrase) "For those coming to the party tonight who can't remember my house, just go the the end of the block where they are chanting 'Get out of Cheney's house'."

they organized busloads of people that came and stood outside the house

The other night I had the rare opportunity to sit in (just to listen) a meeting of Florida Democratic operatives and organizers who had worked on the campaigns of House Representatives in Florida, from Katharine Harris’s opponents to Clay Shaw’s rival. (Don’t ask me how I got in, let’s just say that my wife is Democrat)

The group had two camps: the Chicken Little types: “This is terrible, we screwed up badly” and the Eternal Optimists: “We’re only a couple of seats away from a majority in the Senate.”

One of the Chicken Little crowd raised the issue of Tom Delay bussing “paid volunteers” to House districts with competitive races to help with the get-out-the-vote effort. He was contradicted by one of the Eternal Optimists group who said:

You don’t need to bus paid party workers to distant districts. You just hire them locally.

These bussed people were unpaid passionate Republicans who were very glad to help with the Republican take-over. We failed to energize our base, and we should not assumed that Republicans were as demoralized as we were.”

(Best of my recollection of the exchange)

I guess Democrats were surprised at the spontaneous Republican vigil outside Gore’s residence, so they have to concoct these stories about being orchestrated.

There's nothing sweeter than to see leftists come unglued when someone uses their own tactics on them. I'm sure the Gores have/had no problem with hippies standing outside the White House chanting "Hey, hey LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?" or screaming for Nixon's impeachment. I bet a lot of those people were bussed in back then. Some of them were probably affiliated with "churches" too.

I have a theory that liberals get absolutely terrified when they see conservatives get riled up to the point of protest. Not only do they think they are the only ones with the right to get up in someone's face about an issue, but on a subconscious level they realize that they have overplayed their hand. Much of liberalism/socialism involves taking advantage of the productive elements of society while we are either not paying attention or just allow them to do it out of some vague feelings of guilt or the idea that it's inevitable anyway. When we finally get roused to anger, they see that their scam is in danger of ending. It's like the goose that lays the golden eggs is mad as hell and chasing them across the barnyard.

Kudos to all Freepers who protested! Knowing that you rattled Gore but good, makes me think that you may have put a damper on his desire or ability to push things further than he did.

The DC Chapter of Free Republic organized the protests at the VP's mansion on the grounds of the Naval Observatory during the aftermath of the 2000 Election. We showed up the first time on Thursday evening two days after Election Day (just a handful of us) and the Gore team hastily called upon some college students to show up as a counter and distributed Gore/Lieberman campaign signs for them to hold up. Someone even called the DC Police and reported a group of vandals who were jumping on cars -- us. Imagine our surprise.

From that night, we quickly organized other vigils/protests and passed out the DC Chapter Rules for Protesting to keep order as others equally outraged by Gore's and the democrats' attempts to steal the election in Florida joined us. We brought extra signs and sign-making materials, passed out buttons and flyers, and made many new and lasting friends.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, when 1,000 plus people showed up in a chilly, drizzling rain, Al Gore was on the phone trying to find John Sweeney in order to get some union reps out to counter us. Unfortunately, as we learned from the book published by Washington Post reporters, Sweeney doesn't carry a cell phone and was unreachable. Too bad for Al Gore.

C-Span sells a tape showing some of the protesting on this same Saturday. The voiceover at the beginning mentions a few dozen protesters assembled in support of George W. Bush across from the VP's mansion, but then pans the crowd and it is apparent that there are many people gathered there and the opposite side of the street has about 40 Gore supporters. The corner had people 12 deep on the front lawn of the Vatican Embassy and the line of protesters stretched all the way down Massachusetts to a bend in the road. The signs were creative, clever, witty, humorous and we all smiled as we shouted, "GET OUT OF CHENEY'S HOUSE."

The Gores are trying desperately to rewrite history and make themselves into the victims...again.

All-day parking in downtown DC -- $12.

One (1) Radio Shack bullhorn -- $29.95.

Learning that Gore and family are still whining and lying about the protests two years later...

Priceless.

I just cleared the record on this on the Mark Larson morning show. Gore will be on Mark's show next week and I asked him to make sure Gore acknowledges it was individual FReepers, not people bussed in by the RNC. I think there is a link for his show aa www.870krla.com.

ROTFLOL!!!!

Karena Gore can't possibly understand that Freepers who assembled to holler at The Goron did so spontaneously.

Most of the Dimwit's "protests" have to be organized in great detail, & often the only way to get a decent sized crowd is to bus in homeless people and pay them--LOL!

The radio spot advertising this has a voice-over that says "MANY THINK HE SHOULD BE IN THE WHITE HOUSE". These mediots can't let go even after 2 years. I honestly don't know of anyone who would still rather have Gore as POTUS.
