>> Nobody hardly watches their news anymore.<<
I find it hard to believe any conservative still watches any of the alphabet broadcasters. They haven't been in my home since 1984. I also try to avoid buying anything I know is advertised on ABC, CBS, or NBC although this is difficult since I don't watch these losers.

Uh yeah...right...terrorists are going to pay thousands of dollars and go through all the legal wrangling here when they can buy the same gun in the Middle East for $20 or a chicken! I'm sure there a plenty of ex Egyptian, Syrian, and Iraqi assault rifles (real ones) available. In good condition too, only dropped once.

Almost fell over laughing -- what a GREAT line!! The endlessly inventive humor of the people on this site is amazing.... Now to work on making this true for all the "Big 3" and send them into Nielsen hell! :-)

There is a good reason they are called useful idiots.

dammit! I wanted to give a heads-up about this at lunchtime, but couldn't find a promo for it on CBS news website, so I couldn't be sure the "gun show loophole" was on tonight or was that bomb-material episode they had on last night.
either way, it looks like CBS is on a full-court-press against gun shows this week.

you give them far too much credit for advanced evolution.

THE 2ND AMENDMENT IS HOMELAND SECURITY! Worth repeating.

More lies from the left. Most of the weapons are black market.

Terrorists in this country buy food off our shelves. SO WHAT!! Outlaw food, you liberal quacks. In fact, outlaw humanity, so only you exist.
If you want to get rid of terrorists, you're going to have to KILL them. And yes, this means you'll have to have weapons to fight them. If you outlaw guns, no citizens will be alive to support the government anyway!

That's very true. I think it's only a matter of time before Letterman is the anchor for the CBS Evening News. "Our lead story tonight is a stupid pet trick."
But, on the point of the gun shows. In 1989-91 during the Soviet-Afghan war, I attended about 20 gun shows in northern California in connection with some research I was doing. To my surprise at two or maybe 3 of the shows I attended I saw groups of two to as many as five Afghan men in traditional garb buying laserscopes, grenades and automatic and semi-automatic weapons. I was not the only one watching. There was a contingent of G-men watching in a circumspect way. (The shoes were the give-away on the G-men.) I thought this stuff went on in Lichtenstein and Brussels, but there they were at the fairgrounds in Stockton.
Just anecdotally, at one show I was browsing an illustrated govt publication on how to blow up a house, when one of the G-Men approached me to ask me if I was happily married. One of the better pick up lines I have ever heard.

grenades and automatic and semi-automatic weaponsIf there were grenades, they were certainly not live, and if there were automatic weapons, they would have been class III and require a $200 transfer and full anal probing. No way these things were simply OTC for the Afghans to buy - because that would have been far too easy a bust for the g-men.

I hardly ever watch network news. But for some reason I decided to scroll to a network news show this evening. I turned on CBS, and watched as Dan Rather spoke about his feature segments upcoming and said "You'd think that after 9-11 these guns would be harder to get. You'd be wrong" or something like that. I immediately changed the channel, and remembered why I don't watch network news.

Heh! You and me both.

You callin' my MOM a useful idiot? :^)
Yeah, she is....which is why I never volunteer to drive her to the polls.
OTOH, if you're referring to the talking heads, I'd rather think they qualify as 'fellow travelers'.

LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing. Don't forget about Chinese ships full of weapon caches too.
