It's not very pretty, but it should be easy to cut and paste straight into an excel spreadsheet if you want to look at the data yourself...
Doh! Never cut, paste and sort after a couple of beers.Sorry!

2000: 754,844 per your posts at #14 & #17
2001: 756,600 per Robert_Paulson2 at #15
The state-wide population increase between 2000 and 2001 was 1,756. What sort of change took place during 2002? Regardless, I don't see how it could explain away the numbers in these counties, even if registration was manditory.
AND Shannon had the lowest percentage of registered voters turning out, the only county in the state in the 40's, against a state average of over 70 percent turn out.
Smells like a (Thune) ballot bonfire to me. Would this have been doable for the 'Rats? Can we please impound the voter rolls there?
Oops. McPherson County 37% more registered voters than population...tsk, tsk.
100 more voters than population. Should be the first batch anybody looks at.
AND his % was so high because all the Iraqis are getting farm aid...
Viewed in this light, SD results make perfect sense.
THis is a repeat of my post at 3 pm yesterday, on the Thune thread.
