Democratic Underground Forums Shut Down!!! Couldn't handle the load...

DU just shut down their discussion forums, claiming they couldn't handle the load.... I wonder if there was just to much dem bashing going on by their own members for that partisan freak running the place to take.

Neal Boortz was talking about this a little bit ago. He said they acted like they were ready to drink the kool- aid.

They already drank the Clinton Kool-Aid a decade ago, and they're experiencing one of the delayed effects.

Actually, a scan through www.visualroute.com shows that DU runs Apache. No mention however of what OS they're running, but it's definitely not something running MS PWS or MS IIS.

DU is back up.

I know that Jim Rob is giving us a break today with these DU threads and I thank him for it, but let's remember, they are not the anti Free Republic. Jim asked us a long time ago not post from there. I agree with him. My guess is that it's because DU is mostly irrelevant and not newsworthy. Let's not give a minor website plenty of hits. It's what they want.

Yes -- I've noticed the same thing --- and you'll see that they have that little "hot topic" icon (with the flames) they use it if there at least 30 postings how pathetic. I guess 30 comments constitute quite a discussion....
