To paraphrase the Klingon proverb, "Schadenfreude is a dish best served cold. ".As evidence, here's a random quote from a Dedicated User of another online discission forum that shall remain nameless:

I need a drink and a political party with some balls. F--- it!! I give up, We lost it all. I know it's soon but the repugs have not lost one Senate seat and already took the house. Let them run the country for an eternity or at least until the American people can't stand the pain any longer, America deserves what it gets. I'm moving to Canada, F--- this neo-fascist country. As far as a political party with a back bone , The DNC has blown it and blown it "Big time" . I give up!! Where do I turn for some representation? Maybe Independent? Who cares, Im moving to Canada."
Hee hee hee. And the night is still young...
Proverbs 24
17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,
18 or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn His wrath away from him.
We wouldn't want God's wrath to be removed from the DemoNcrats, would we? Clinton's impeachment probably failed for this very reason. Let's not blow it again.
Stop gloating! Leave God's wrath where it belongs -- on them, not us!
But I'm not cute when I gloat.
Besides, why should I remind you who Chuck Schmer really is?
Actually, as a person, Schumer isn't a bad guy -- just his politics that are putrid.
And I think you're just adorable. :D
Don't worry about that. The NEA is taking care of the reading abilities as we speak.

First, this little lady, who plans on soothing the sting of the GOP landslide with a spicy girls-only spa/camping trip. Hey, at least the wine and aromatherapy will take the edge off. Maybe they can discuss the latest Lifetime wifebeater movie while scarfing down (and later vomiting up) a half-gallon of Ben&Jerry's Chunky Monkey each. Liberalism -- it's Oprah-riffic!
Time to turn off the TV and the noise. I went to the library today and got a big fat biography of Theodore Roosevelt. I'm going to the Ozarks this weekend for a hiking trip with two other women, both of whom are strong liberal progressives. We are taking wine and cheese and plan on getting aromatherapy massages at the spa. Then its back to the real world and time to figure out what's next.Well, anyone who likes T.R. can't be all bad. Next, another DUnderheaded attempt to paint us conservatives as Bad Guys:Peace,

I submit the problem is not one of VISION, but rather IMAGE."Image"? Sounds pretty close to the real thing, ne c'est pas? Here is the IMAGE of the Democratic party:
Brown people of all varieties, gay people, poverty, disease, stymied government, take your guns, kill unborn babies, dirty working class, welfare queens, no God, big government, filth, crime, lies, cheating, presidential blowjobs, and a weak military.
Here is the IMAGE of the Republican party:Yep, that's me! But she says it like it's a bad thing. I figured she's anti-gun and anti-SUV, but is she against cleanliness, whiteness, and Bibles too? And just what does she have against skirts and aprons? Weird!
A white man, 30's, steps out the door of his brand-new spanking clean 4-bedroom house, on his way to work. Behind him, his wife smiles as two immaculately clean children (1 boy, 1 girl) cling to her skirts (of course she is wearing a skirt, she's wearing an apron too). There is a Bible on the bookshelf and a gun locked in a gun cabinet in the basement, so this good man can protect his family. The man knows his family and country are protected by the strongest military in the world. He gets into his SUV, and takes one last look back at his beautiful, clean, white family.
Blacks don't exist. Gays don't exist. AIDS doesn't exist. Poverty doesn't exist.I could live in a world with no homosexuality or AIDS. As for black people, I happen to like people in general, so eliminating any of them isn't on my agenda. The poor will be with us always.
So that's what we're working against. The thing is, people KNOW that image #2 doesn't actually exist, and sometimes, they force themselves to deal with the reality inherent in image #1. But after 9/11? Oh, hell no. They want image #2 goddammit, and the fact that it isn't real is NOT a deterrent. But it is real for some of us, honey. And that fact -- the fact that those who believe in God, country, and family generally live clean, happy lives -- is what burns in your gut.

Tough.
OK, i actually made up that last part about the guns.
Did You? ;)

Should a liberal own a gun?
I know most liberals don't like guns and want them banned but after watching what's happening in the country (it's turning into a police state under the Shrub and Ashcroft), I started thinking.
What if the Hawks staged a coup or something like that?
What if law and order completely breaks down and rednecks are roaming the streets looking for "Clinton Lovers" to lynch?
What if they decided to start rounding up "unpatriotic" people like us and putting us in camps?
Fact is, we might need guns to protect ourselves from these people before it's over.
Something to think about...

I bet that she either got her Roosevelts confused, or didn't know that there were two President Roosevelts!!

With the exception of the misguided, misinformed, confused, and lockstep voters!

In the case of the Dems, the conservative blacks and gays don't exist, AIDS is a political, not a medical disease, and poverty is a place you keep your voters, blaming it on Mr. White guy above, so they will remain dissatisfied and loyal to those they perceive are giving them a free ride.
Thank you!
LOL. That's me too, except the SUV gets 30 mpg, two daughters -- and despite the example of her father [grin] the oldest is studying to be an engineer. (She's a registered Republican, btw -- and it was her choice.)
