I saw on Fox News that Thune is leading. What's up with that? I just saw it a moment ago before it went to commerical.
To: MinorityRepublican
The numbers are from the official SD Sec. of State website.
To: Gunder
Now up to 99% in Minnesota. With 98.51% of precincts reporting, Coleman leads by 2.07%. The Dems are crying in their lefse.
To: Charles Henrickson
Can you tell me the website address? I thought he was down 525 with 1 precinct not counted.

My guess is that FOX's numbers are outdated. South Dakota SOS has Thune losing by 525.
To: NY Catholic
My arithmetic was off when I reported 525. (I've been up all night.) It's 545. Here's the website:
To: Charles Henrickson
98.54% in, Coleman up by 1.91%.
To: AppyPappy
Why don't you people find another way to entertain yourself. Because turn about is fair play, and if the Dems wish to toss insult, rudeness and obliquy [not to mention accusations of Republican-directed assassinations] around, they're going to get it right back. If a few week-kneed losers don't care for the idea, tough.

I wouldn't count it over yet for MN...take a look at the total number of Senate ballots tallied and compare that to the number of voters tallied.
The difference between the two is 212,737, meaning that there are still 212,737 senate ballots to count on top of the remaining 1% or so of ballots...For example in washington county, the numbers are old, but telling...as of 0249 CST, 82 of 84 precints had reported results from Governor, state senate, etc...., but only 24 precints had sent in Senate results.

All 844 precincts now reporting. Johnson "wins" by 528 votes--pending the recount. Thune was leading until the last couple precincts. South Dakota is an Indian giver!
To: bigaln2
Washington and Dakota counties are Republican.
To: Charles Henrickson
Do we know if Thune will (he should) ask for a recount? I know that the state law says that a losing candidate, provided they lost by <2%, can ask for a recount.
There is no automatic recount in SD.

The GOP should go over every single Indian reservation ballot like it was a new piece of evidence in the JFK assassination. I think that you'll find that neither the Dems nor the pubbies would care to pay very close attention to the evidence in the JFK hit. But with this final repudiation of the Clinton wing of the Democratic organized crime family, the Kennedys are now ready to advance their annointed pick of presidential candidate, set on the back burner as Gore's VP mate in favor of Joe Lieberman by Gore's first campaign manager.
Say, come to think of it, Teddy Kennedy was campaigning for Wellstone the day of the plane crash. You reckon he was expected to be aboard that flight?

Yeah, so? There are still uncounted precints in Hennepin County, which is very Democratic.
BTW, Dakota County is finished counting.

I thought you lived in Florida, not the South! When you grow up in NEW JERSEY, Florida is as southern as they come. LOL -- Anyway, I'm on the west coast, which is 100% better than the east coast of FL (You might as well be in NJ living there!)

Fox News reported that there'll be a recount if the difference is less than 500 votes. Beyond that, Thune can ask for a recount, but if he does, he can't sue. Fox saying he may have to choose between asking for a recount and going to court.
To: Otta B Sleepin
Ok, but it looks as if the final difference is 528 votes, so it's up to Thune...
Part of me wants him to go to court, but common sense tells me that he should take the high road and request the recount...
To: Otta B Sleepin
The difference is 528 votes. There may still be hope ... IF Thune asks for a recount WITH a major check for illegal votes i.e. pets, aliens and the deceased.
BUT I think the GOP should now focus strongly on getting Suzie Haik Terrell to pound down on Landrieu in Louisiana.
To: bigaln2
it looks as if the final difference is 528 votes, so it's up to Thune This will be a tough decision to make. If he goes to court, he'll really be made to look like the bad guy. Since the massive litigations expected all across the country aren't going to happen, all the focus would be on Thune, and I suspect the Democrats and their media cronies would channel their anger and disappointment into ripping this man apart.
