In your opinion, will the 70,000 Coleman margin be enough?

It looks like Mondale was the problem. We can't even garner 48%. I can't see him making that up.

It looks like in the 13 precints left, Johnson has about a 1200 vote margin maybe. This race is dead even. In 4 Indian precints in Shannon County, Johnson lead by 1000 votes, and he has six precints left to go there. It is odd that they have not been counted. I hope the FBI is near and watching.

The Farm Bill (aka farm welfare) is huge. Also the influx (or lack thereof) of federal money after the draught last summer was a big campaign issue.

And SD remains a poor state -- or at least one with a lot of poor people. As I understand those federal bail-outs, the money goes to the big lenders and the big farmers. Well, I guess it's like the blacks continually voting Dem (though that seems to be changing -- slowly): what do the Dems actually do for them -- those who get ahead do it by their own hard work, helped when the economy is pretty good.

It's the same way in Louisiana. But the Repubs have the Senate, we may have a chance there if Bush and Lott can get there and make some promises.

This race is close enough for an automatic recount, right?

Craig Livingstone is on the scene and has the situation under control.

I hope Lott learned his lesson. Power-sharing will kill judicial nominations.

What exactly is Lott's problem? He seemed so relieved to go back to minority leader: apparently he doesn't like being majority leader and God knows he's no good at it. Why does he even want it?

Good. We need to attack SD like the RATS attacked Florida in 2000. Get in there and fight to win.

"Automatic recount"

Yes they will count them as many times as it takes to get the right number! LOL

you know shannon co. has about 6000 registered voters...and so far I see only 1100 have voted...

Maria Cantwell won Washington by a margin of 2000 votes...mostly last minute provisional votes....and the stupid party never even contested it....

when will we change?...when will we demand fair voting.....

Cannot wait to see how the market reacts tomorrow to GOP sweep. Bush needs to restructure his economic team. Symbolism important, fresh start.
