BOSTON -- Republican Mitt Romney's campaign filed a complaint several hours after polls opened Tuesday, saying union workers were improperly influencing voters in the city's Jamaica Plain section.

Romney campaign adviser Rob Gray said officials with the Service Employees International Union were seen entering voting booths with some voters in Ward 11, Precinct 4 of Jamaica Plain.

Thank you! This story is breaking large. Romney is a nice guy but he's not a pushover. He's got the money, the resources and the desire to pursue this nonsense in a court of law. I hope he pursues this even if he wins (as I expect him to do). If Romney loses by a razor thin margin, God help those union bastards.

I lived in Jamaica Plain for six years. A socialist haven, to be sure. I wonder what part of JP this occurred in--the arty, ultra lefty part (where I lived, near the Pond and the Arboreteum) or up near Jackson Square. I voted for Dole back in '96, didn't get escorted around by a Union worker, although the poll workers did care to inform me that I was only one of TWO registered Repubs in the area.

Boy, did I get some funny looks that day...

Excellent post. Sometimes I think there isn't much holding the country together. The selfishness, greed, win at all costs has led us to here. The change in attitude needed to take us back is what I cannot see. Truly frightening.

Hah! "Voter irregularities" in Massachusetts?

I was born and raised in Massachusetts.

We all know that a "voter irregularity" there is a clean election.

Rest assured Flashy, that these reports from the former Bay Colony of popejammery at the polling places are pure codswallop.

Escorting Spaniards behind the sacred curtain? Never happened.

Did you vote yes on question 1?

Now that you mention it, yes I did. I knew it hasn't a prayer of passing, and will probably hurt me more than help me, but I wanted to send a message to the Dem controlled Legislature and possibly to that fat hack dowager, Shannon O'Brien, given that her stooges are working pretty hard to make sure she is elected. The budget for this state has doubled since Weld was governor, and the graft, hackery and patronage in this state are reaching mythical proportions. Finneran, Speaker of the House, a Democrat supported by SEIU and other Dem enterprises, has so much power (effectively Speaker for life now, literally) that he has backed the screwing of the SEIU and other higher education unions on negotiated pay raises for over a year. Yet they support Dems. Go figure. Cutting off your nose to spite your own face, IMHO.

For those of you outside of Massachusetts, Referendum question #1 is a repeal of the state income tax, a virtual stake in the heart for the Dem legislature.
