Southwest Florida, where Katherine Harris will be our next congresswoman. Cubans are not the problems. It's the Northeastern Liberals who have migrated here over the last two decades. They expect the same services here that they got in New York and don't care about who pays the taxes to get them. They think cheating on election day is just part of life.

Hmm, looks to me like you might be adding Haitians to that list. Sorry for you.

You sir, are ignorant. The vast majority of Cubans vote Republican and are staunch anti-communists. If you will remember the 2000 election, it was the Cubans who stormed the building when the Dems wanted to count ballots behind closed doors in clear violation of the sunshine laws. Ironically, it was little Elian who got Bush elected. Clinton/Gore had started to make inroads into the Cuban community and got maybe 40% of their vote (I may be a little off in my numbers). After the Elian debacle, that number dropped to 10%. There's your 1000 or so votes that put Bush over the top.

You also must remember there were basically two waves of Cubans. Those from the 60's who tended to be upper or middle class. Castro figured it was a lot easier to get rid off his opponents by deporting them. He let the children escape via the Peter Pan flights. Their parents followed afterwards. The second wave came from the Carter era when Castro emptied his prisons and mental institutions. These Marielistas gave the hard working, God fearing, anti-communists Cubans a bad name. The ones who wash ashore nowadays are not the cream of the crop of Cuban society who managed to escape long ago but are merely lost souls who probably tend to vote democrat like any other immigrant group.

I would put the Cubans up against any other immigrant group as far as productivity, strong family units, God fearing, and conservative.

That's a lot of balls coming from a TRIAL LAWYER!!!

And don't bother trying to make the comparison to the Founders, it's laughable.

The cuban americans were the ones who saved us in 2000. Don't be bashing them.

If it wasn't for them you would be living with President Al Gore for at least 4 years.

You are too quick to pin this on the Cubans. The Cuban-Americans are our friends. It's the North/Eastern "immigrants" that vote Democratic.

"FL was fine until the Cubans took over South Florida..."

Uhhh...Cubans are generally conservative, rabidly anti-Castro, rabidly anti-anything-that-smacks-of-socialism, EXTREMELY patriotic, and REPUBLICAN.
