We're done.

Took my 4-year-old son in the booth and he punched Forrester and Buster.

Reporting from Sarasota county, Florida.

After waving my Jeb Bush/Katherine Harris signs in one hand and American flag in the other for 2.5 hours along the highway, I went to my polling place still wearing my red "Vets for Jeb" t-shirt and voted. Some folks told me that I would be confronted for "making a political statement", but no one said boo. Florida's new touchscreen systems worked like a champ, and I was done in less than five minutes.

One thing I noticed immediately was that there were NO REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE SIGNS ANYWHERE at my precint. Very likely that the local rats stole them before sunup, but it was almost 10 AM and no resupply! So I drove up to the GOP HQ in Osprey and got a bunch of Jeb, Carlton and Bronson signs to populate my precinct. The folks running the HQ there got all defensive when I asked them what was going on, saying, "Oh, we have people doing that. We were asking for volunteers a week ago!". To which I said, "Well, you didn't ask me". Honestly, their "organization" and "communication" are very poor -- I've only been helping with a multitude of other aspects of the campaign for three months now...

I took some signs and went back to my precinct; I even souveinired two Harris signs on my way there, and there was one Jeb sign at the polls that wasn't there before. Whoopee-do. If that's their idea of taking care of things, we are hurting. In any case, I took care of business in my own way. All done.

As far as I know, Clay Shaw IS running against Carol RAT Roberts! Something you might want to rectify if true, PJ.

Voted in Mass. Polls were busy this mid-morning, usually a bad sign that the Democrats are coming out.

Mass. voters get out and VOTE REPUBLICAN!

I went undercover in jeans, Hawaiian shirt and well-worn leather jacket. No goons anywhere near the polling place, though. I may go by there again today to see if they show up.

Need I say I voted straight Republican? No on all judges (except for the Deukmejian appointees), initiatives, (except for 48) and yes on F&H. I voted to call the new city "San Fernando Valley," but "Camelot" was tempting.

Voted in S. suburban Nashville at 8 a.m. Straight GOP ticket (go Van Hilleary!) except for my state senator, who is more pro-life and pro-RKBA than his Republican opponent.

Rainy day. Turnout moderately heavy.

"What Good Am I?!"
(To be sung to Bob Dylan's "What Good Am I")

What good am I...if I'm like all the rest?
If I just turn away...when Slick's slaughterin' kids...
If I shut myself off...sit 'n' bitch, moan, and whine...
What...good...am...I?!

Why, tell me why...won't the Press tell the Truth?
'Bout Slick's deal with Beijing...'bout the Dead Slick's thugs shoot?
Should I just drink my beer...forget Slick's TREASON and his LIES?!
Whose...FOOL...am...I?!

What good am I...if I fail to FReep?!
Should I lay down in bed...try to restlessly sleep?
When I've seen Waco pictures...children carelessly FRIED...
What...good...am...I?!

Do I tell my kids...that Dad failed the FRee?!
FOLKS, WE MUST MAKE OUR STAND...LET'S DETHRONE WILLIE!!!
Prosecute all his crimes...let's send Slick to Prison!!
Soon, Slick we'll INDICT...and we'll RE-IMPEACH!!!

What good am I...if I bless foolish things?
If I cower in the face of...Vile Tyranny?!
Shall I just turn my back...while our Liberties die?!
I...would...rather...die!!

Mudboy Slim

Yo...FReepers!!

The 12th of August 2000 is set in stone...meet in DeeCee at the White House between eleven and twelve at Monica's Gate...WE MARCH AT HIGH NOON and will be ending up at the Lincoln Memorial where we will have a stage set up. Not very likely anyone would read this far into the thread but for the record--voted early this a.m, not many other voters so I would say a low turn-out for my ultra-liberal Chicago Lakefront district. Not at all like the 2 Clinton elections when dumb females were lined up out the door and onto the sidewalk.

Voted at noon, Washington D.C. We have a hotly contested ANC race (Advisory Neighborhood Commission: unpaid neighborhood ombudsmen position), and both candidates were out gladhanding. Since I was the only voter there, I was able to press them both on their positions on Iraq and Social Security privatization.

I think I kinda took 'em by surprise ....

Oh yeah, I voted for all the Republicans on the ballot. Not that it makes any difference in D.C.
