I voted mid-morning in Broward: there are 11 state constitution amendments, 13 County Charter Questions, 4 Court of Appeal Judges, 2 Fla SC Judges, 3 Circuit Judges, 1 County School Board, and only 4 actual partisan races, including governor, on the the ballot in my district -- and in some other districts, you can tack on city elections and referendums.

All the booths (10) were up and running, all the poll workers were in attendance, and in at least five of the booths, there were people standing reading the amendments from the time I walked into the room until after I voted and left.

All registered voters got a sample ballot in the mail, and should have read the amendments, made their choices and brought the sample ballot with them -- but when you insist on registering people who have minimal intelligence and reading skills (and I'm not talking about senior citizens!), the results are what I saw this morning: people standing at the machine for 45 minutes or more, then telling the poll worker they're having trouble. I pity anyone (including my better half) who has to vote on the way home from work -- plan on a late-night dinner and a foot-soak.

BTW, some of those state amendments include such momentous items as caging pigs humanely, although there are only two pig farms in the entire state! Florida doesn't know how to say no when it comes to compiling endless, confusing and in some cases downright frivolous ballot referendums and amendments. No one has really addressed that issue, and each year it gets worse.

My husband and I just voted straight Republican here in the Florida Panhandle.

Turn out was very heavy ("better than the primary") according to poll workers. The polls had been open three hours when I got on line, and 266 people had already voted.

Made my calls to friends and relatives last night and this morning and all are geared up and ready to vote here in Florida and six in Louisiana hoping to keep Mary Landieu below 50%.

My wife and I are reporting in from rural N. Carolina: straight Republican ticket for both of us except for a single oddball county commissh guy who stated that his priority is to "increase the tax base" (RINO).

I have a dillema. Tonight, I can do as I originally planned and stay glued to FR, radio, and TV to monitor the returns, or I can accept an invitation to wait for returns at the house of a state legislature candidate whom I have supported, helped, and desperately want to see win. Any advice?

My Wife and I just voted here in West Suburban Chicago ( Du Page County). There is a cold light rain falling here and the parking lot in this VERY Republican county was FULL! There was a steady stream of voters in and out of the polling place. I had to wait for a booth! GO GOP!!! GO JIM RYAN!!!!

Just voted at lunch time. Was handed a Republican sample ballot on the way in (legal distance from the polling booths) and was grateful as trying to figure out the party of the various candidates for local courts and our state supreme court would otherwise be a crapshoot.

We're fired up (and well organized) here but as I mentioned to one of the poll workers on the way out, I sure wish I could cast a vote in Minnesota.

Actually being with human beings instead of the computer is a good idea...it will be there when you return, you candidate may not.

I voted this morning at 9:30. I was #132 on the voting roll. I went through hell and high water to vote (tornado warnings in my area and flooded streets) and it felt great to vote that straight Republican ticket. Hopefully Louisiana will send Mary Landrieu into a runoff.

Just back from voting here on Long Island, an annual family and neighborhood event. My husband, my sons, myself and the neighbors.

No identification checks, give them your name and sign in. I asked if they wanted to see I.D. and was told, "Oh, we remember you." The gentleman behind me chimed in with..."this is voter fraud day, no I.D. required."...lol.

As we left the polls, we were asked by Edison Media Research(I've never heard of them) to take an exit poll. When asked who he voted for my husband said, Jeb Bush, Forrester, Coleman, and Bill Simon... they were not amused, we were!!!

I had trouble with my chads (pregnant they were)...so I had to punch my card twice just to make sure it counted then I notified the poll workers that they needed to clean the loose chads out of the voting machine.

I even had a few of my chads fly back at me after I voted. Hmmmmmm....could that be a sign of a strong republican showing?

Voted a straight GOP ticket in Rural Franklin County, Georgia. Go Saxby, Sonny, Ralph Hudgens and ARCH ADAMS

Could not vote STRAIGHT TICKET in Atlanta (unless I missed something) on the Touch Screen voting in Fulton County. But it was much easier than working with a paper ballot. On the other hand, it would be to rig a computer.
