Voted in Pa. (pronounced Pee-ay) :-)Straight Republican for the first time ever. But I couldn't even let our fairly good dem state rep have my vote this time.

Today is my birthday - so my daughter who just graduated from college in May, treated me to lunch, and we went to the polls together. A mother-daughter bonding experience. It was her first voting experience at home (she voted for GWB by absentee - her very first vote). After seeing a few of her first pay stubs and the taxes that were taken out, she too, voted straight Republican.

I painted my nails Republican Red, put on my gold elephant earrings and went out to cast my vote for LINDA LINGLE!!! I'm almost hopeful this year (in Hawaii that's as good as it gets).

My son who is in college in California voted absentee for Linda. He got a call the other day urging him to vote for Simon. I said why not. He declined, saying something about voter fraud being Wrong. Kids these days....

Do all polling places have old people running them?

Those aren't old people. Those are dead Democrats

Voted in Texas - Straight R!. Daughter and son-in-law did the same.

Many retired people work here, but also college kids and teachers - if they can get the day off.
I put in my bid for Jim Talent here in Missouri.

...and I fired all the judges. :)
Good Job! Me too...

Of the 4 judges up for "re-appointment", I think 3 were appointed by either Holden or Carnahan...

Out, out!

You are right - not much to vote on here in No. Va. But I did vote for our Republican candidates, NO to the sales tax hike, NO to a number of bond issues, and NO to some constitutional amendments. Felt great!

Voted early this morning in NJ, was the 131st person to vote in my district...

Let's hope that we keep Lautenberg out of the Senate; all that a vote for him would be is an open invitation for McGreedy to appoint himself to Frank's seat as soon as the polls for the next Governor's election show him to be losing badly. Of course, if he's (McGreevy) winning, you can put money on Flim-Flam Florio taking over Lautenberg's seat when he quits (and you know that he will).

Politcs in NJ sucks

My oldest (a daughter who is politically active-member Young republicans) turned 18 on July 25th and voted for the first time today! She thought it was great. Hubby and myself voted right after work at about 3:15 and were #'s 264-265. The young 'un in the TBV home won't turn 18 until next August, so unfortunately he cannot help us out this time around.

Just voted at 5:45 p.m. here in upstate S.C. Straight R of course! Good news is that my district is very conservative and it was quite busy. The poll worker told me that it's as busy as it was in 2000, which is not the usual for an off-year election. Very good news for Sanford and Graham, although I don't think either was ever in doubt.

>> Voted this morning (central Illinois) for John Shimkus, Durkin (Oh Lord how I wish he could pull the upset of the year), and even for the RINO Jim Ryan for Governor (that was the one I didn't know what I was going to do until I was in the booth; my heart said Cal Skinner (Libertarian) but my head said Ryan. <<

You made the right choice. Jim Ryan may be a squishy moderate, but he certainly isn't an evil liberal George Ryan clone like the Skinnerities portray him as. (however, Cal Skinner IS a Pat Buchanan clone). Jim Ryan also has a shot at winning. Compare Jim's running mate to Cal's and tell me who has better judgement?

Not that there isn't a place for voting LP. In a race between a Libertarian and a Democrat, I vote Libertarian. Lesser of two evils, and gives me a choice when some GOP wimps already conceded the race.

Oh, best of luck of Shimkus pulling this one off. I'd vote for him. Unfortuantely, I see the 19th congressional district race as the one of the few races where BOTH candidates are fairly good and decent people. Too bad the Illinois establishment had to punish Phelps instead of a socialist Chicago 'RAT.

Voted at my precinct here in Chelmsford, MA just an hour and a half ago. It was what I would call "moderately busy" with about a five minute wait to get a ballot. All booths were taken and I had to wait a few minutes for one to open up.

I voted Mitt Romney (R) for governor and I am optimistic that he will win. Remember, it has been 16 years since a Democract/Socialist won governor here (hard to believe as they may be to outsiders).

There was a disgusting lack of Republican challengers for the other offices so I voted Libertarian or Independent for the other races where there was no Republican challengers. I did not cast a single vote for a 'Rat. If there was a 'Rat unopposed, I left it blank.

If Romney wins (as I think he will), he's got to start building up the Republican party in this state. Just pitiful.

As for the ballot questions, I voted YES on question #1 to repeal the income tax (though it is non-binding). I voted YES on English immersion (make the kids learn English so that they do not have to learn in Spanish). I voted NO to use taxpayer money to fund elections. And I voted NO on the Prop 2 1/2 override to build more schools in my community. (For those not familiar with Prop 2 1/2, it is a law limiting the increase in property tax in any given year to 2 1/2 percent.)

I am still seething over the fact that union thugs have been escorting non-English speaking Hispanics into voting booths in Boston and pulling the levers for them. Those bastards are cancelling out our votes and they need to be jailed.

Alas Babylon! checking in. Just voted STRAIGHT Republican in Alabama. I also work at a polling place (Auburn University Montgomery). Large turn-out in am (7-9:30), low after that. No long lines like 2000. In my small town I voted at 4:45 PM CST. The single machine showed I was ballot # 898. In 2000 I voted around the same time; then, my ballot was # 2236. I remember the number as it was the highest I had ever seen by far. Big difference between these two years. BTW my county is predominately Republican.

Go Riley, Sessions, and Everett!!!!!!!!!!
