Well, we have come to the point where the rubber meets the road. We all have our opinions or gut feelings about what is going to happen in this election. Here is your chance to carve your opinions into stone, or at least, into FR's data base. Tomorrow, or whenever we find out the results, wouldn't it be nice to have the whole world know that you nailed it on the head?

I've picked ten races, just to make the post election math easier. Wanna play?

Hutchinson (R) - Pryor (D) Senate in Arkansas
Chambliss (R) - Cleland (D) Senate in Georgia
Coleman (R) - Mondale (D) Senate in Minnesota
Talent (R) - Carnahan (D) Senate in Missouri
Sununu (R) - Shaheen (D) Senate in New Hampshire
Dole (R) - Bowles(D) Senate in North Carolina
Thune (R) - Johnson (D) Senate in South Dakota
Simon (R) - Davis (D) Governor of California
Bush (R) - McBride (D) Governor of Florida
Ehrlich (R - Townsend (D) Governor of Maryland

OK..Ten races...how many will you get right?

No prizes in this FR contest except the bragging rights and a time/date stamp on your post url, to prove your prognostication prowess!

That's where my renewal form's going (remember, I do have my VWRC coffee mug, which I really need to take to work).

"Hey...are you saying that if SlickWillie'sThugs off T-Mac, you win the bet?! Nawww...that ain't right, IMHO. Sultan, you wanna step in here?! Landru's trying to finagle our bet...MUD"

Ahhh. The question before the judge - what if the TMACster reaches room temperature through some unfortunate "accident". Now, this should have been a codicil to the original wager, but in truth, was not. But, I would be inclined at this time to rule that such a demise would be at least the equivalent of an indictment and in that case MUD would win the wager. I will deal more with this aspect over on the Black thread, when my thinking is a little clearer, however.

"But, honestly, doncha think you've earned it??"

And that Ladies & Gentleman, comes from a *real* "Judge."
Not just any ordinary "Judge," either.
Ohhhhh no-no-noooooo.

This Judge -- THE "sultan" -- is an articulate, educated, intelligent, intuitive, sensitive, honest, reliable, fair, impartial, upstanding, taxpaying, faithful, observant, reasonable, God-fearing all-round-nice-guy kinda "Judge" & one who *specializes* in adjudicating deadbeats, slackers, & foot-draggers who're one half-step above barn burners!!

"And what's with this golfing in Mrytle Beach during the big Nittany Lion-Cavalier football game...the one where we have wagered lunch over???"

Well.
I do declare.
THIS sounds like the wager on the game my help was enlisted to preside over, huh.

There's some kind of *trickery* going on here, sultan; a shenanigan!
I can feeeeeelllll it!
WATCH HIM!
He's a fairly dangerous raskel when he's losing a bet.

But alas!
I am at the ready to mete out justice should he make one move to deviate so much as a nanometer from the straight & narrow on my watch; so help me God!
(Of course, I can't do a thing 'bout him being a deviate; but, that's another court, another jurisdiction, altogether...)

"See Sultan...see Scholar...see FGS...this is the sorta KRAP I gotta deal with...Landru."

Ahhhh yes, turnabout.

...the fairest of all play; by-far. :o)

"I will deal more with this aspect over on the Black thread, when my thinking is a little clearer, however."

I object, you're honor.

On the grounds Terry McAuliff's untimely demise might in-fact be a genuine, "Act of God" & not the result of anyone trying to deliberately silence the worm.

I mean, what would we know for certain were the true circumstances surrounding such an unfortunate turn of fortunes manifesting in Terry McAuliff's passing; should, of course, such an event even occur??

Moreover, this ruling (by you) would have serious ramifications on various & assorted "Hate Crime" legislation felt at the highest levels where even the cowardly SCOTUS fears to tread!!
As such: a ruling of this import most certainly would validate the notion one could accurately, & reliably, make assumptions by drawing their own conclusions based solely upon facts not in evidence!

For that reason, and, because we'd only have the testimony of the corpus delecti in the form of a mighty stiffling -- albeit refreshing -- silence?
The bet should be & must be declared null & void upon reciept of a Death Certificate bearing the name of, "Terrence McAuliff," your Honor.

I further respectfully suggest to the court, if your Honor were to get'cher head outa yer ass,?
The "view" would be markedly improved; nay, I submit it couldn't possibly *be* any clearer.
As a matter of fact I dare say it'd be downright breathtaking.

Above all-else make this ruling & I'll put a, "Stop Order" on the check I sent'cha.

...it hasn't cleared yet, y'know. :o)

Yes. The untimely demise of one Terrence MacAuliffe, (if it occur before any indictments are handed down with his name on them) will nullify the Landru-Mudboy Slim wager.

Well, you might.

Just for the hell of it; and, because you have a pretty good sense of humor?
Lemme lend you my experience & give ya a couple of tips, OK?

#1) Stay away from Cops.
&...
#2) Stay away from sheisters.

Now ya do #s 1 & 2 right??
You'll never have to see #3.

See Sultan...see Scholar...see FGS...this is the sorta KRAP I gotta deal with...MUD>

Oh get a grip you two. I ain't seen so much carping, caterwauling, and crawfishing since well, last time you two had a bet ; ) One thing's fer certain; you wouldn't ever find me mediating a wager between you two. No sir; sitting in a divorce court every day would be like a vacation compared to this. And besides, sultan says you guys always welch on the under-the-table gratuity anyway.

We got work to do. We need to add another senate seat from the great state of Louisiana. We need to fire up the Republican Sanitation Department and see to it they commence to haulin' out the trash. ALL of it! Over the next few months we're gonna find out what our Pubbies are made of. Cutting taxes, repealing ridiculous and oppressive legislation, and reining in and/or consilidating the executive branch just for starters...

A prognostication: Thune will ultimately win SoDak. I think tiny Tom may have ripped his britches there. Not necessarily because he was involved(yeah right) in the reservation mischief, but because it happened in his back yard right under his nose. So, whaddaya think???

Oh, I guarantee Tiny Tom was involved. But I don't hold out any hope that this will be overturned. I don't suspect the GOP will fight very hard, since they got their majority anyway. What a shame. Of all the out-of-state candidates, John Thune had become my personal favorite.

Now, since you have made a prognostication, be ready for that ole scoundrel Landru to suggest a "friendly" little wager!

That said, once the Indictments are levied against T-Mac, subsequent PlaneKrashin'/DeeCeeSnipin'/MarcyParkDitchin' of McAuliffe by Slick's Thugs means I still get my brats, beers, and stogies, right?!
