By now Bush has worked his way through the crowd, shaking a few hands when the giant doors of the hangar open to reveal a blue sky, and a wonderful horizon of Pennsylvania forest, its leaves turning all shades of russet, amber and gold. Slowly, the sleek shape of Air Force One is revealed, and suddenly there's the president, ascending the steps, reaching the top and turning for a final wave. The whole picture is framed perfectly: the lone leader and the silver bird, all bathed in morning sunlight. It's a Spielberg moment. And as the pom-poms shake, and the crowd cheers, a sharp, hard thought strikes. As Bush himself might put it, we misunderestimate this man at our peril. The very last sentence said it...paisano, you better watch it, the man in The White House is a power to reckon with...make no mistake about it!
GWB stay tough !

When men- tough, practical, men like Ronald reagan and G.W. Bush are finally recognized for who they are instead of who the shite shoveling European Socialist press has caricatured them to be, there seems to be this strange begrudging respect, always tempered by wariness.
The problem is these Eurotrash they have been fed a diet of the brown stuff for so long they have forgotten the taste of good red meat.
So good to see The Guardian standing at the table serving up 'Umble Pie.

your thoughts can't help but turn to Ronald Reagan. Many Brits and Europeans thought him a clown, a bozo too dumb to lead a dog, let alone the free world. Yet somehow he was re-elected in a landslide and is still loved and revered by his countrymen."Yet somehow he was re-elected..." Somehow.
Oh yeah, one other thing he did -- he destroyed the Soviet Union, thus ensuring the survival of Europe, so that they can whine, bitch, and endlessly complain about American hegemony.
The Gipper says "You're welcome!"

Wouldn't it be wonderful to take back the Senate and gain in the House today?
These dims are supposed to be so smart, yet they cannot figure out the Electorial College? Give me a break, the standard dims, are just stupid enough to believe their leadership's lies.
Go GW! GO!

But a respectable performance by Republicans tonight - maintaining, say, their narrow hold over the House of Representatives even when the economy is sputtering - would be seen as an enormous vindication of a man who won fewer votes in the 2000 election than his Democratic opponent and was only installed in the White House thanks to five members of the US Supreme Court. No, he was elected by a majority of Florida voters, as two recounts proved.

In the movie "The Natural" the lead character loses some years of his life before he returns to baseball and redeems himself. GWBush also spent some time in the wilderness with drink and partying. GW is gonna pull his Republicans over the hump today. His brother too. I'm pulling for a GOP Senate that passes GW's judicial nominees. That GW makes the list of nominees even more conservative to give the cRats a good spanking. To alter the federal judiciary at least as much as traitor42 did.

Keeping your own money; caves; a debating society. Every abstract idea has a visual imageThe intellectual giants at the Guardian think these are abstract ideas. It is to laugh.

a black woman towards a spot right behind the podium. She will be over the speaker's shoulder; television viewers will see her, not the overwhelmingly white, male crowd that fills the stage. bookmark.....(thoughts to here, let's see, latest pic of XXX42: surrounded by black people; let's see, XXX42's cabinet: no blacks......yep, I guess the impression is the Bush just creates a "stage").
