Al Bawaba reported the names:
http://www.albawaba.com/news/index.php3?sid=232544&lang=e&dir=news
According to sources in Yemen, Ali Qaed Senyan al-Harthi, also known as Abu Ali, was one of the men in the car, all of whom were Yemenis suspected of links to al Qaeda. Abu Ali is one of two men that Yemeni security forces have been trying to hunt down for questioning since 9/11 attacks.
---
They claim the strike was done by 4 F-18's after a Predator tracked the car:
According to Gulf intelligence sources, the attack was carried out by four U.S. Navy F/A-18 "Hornet" fighter bombers launched from the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln out at sea in the Arab Gulf.
The aircraft circled off the Yemen shore for several hours until the target was spotted and they were ordered to attack. During the long flight the aircraft refueled in the air from a large U.S. Air Force Boeing tanker aircraft based in Saudi Arabia.
Once the al-Qaeda assassination team was spotted headed for their attack on the American ambassador, the American CIA commander in Yemen gave the order to strike. The four "Hornet" aircraft flew in from the sea at high speed, and as they approached the target two of them flew low. Each of these two jets launched one television-guided missile. At least one of the two missiles hit the pickup truck in the cab, while the second missile apparently missed entirely. The attacking aircraft turned around and made a slow flight over the burning wreckage before joining their two fellows and heading off to sea.
Media reports said that local farmers had spotted a glimmering object high in the sky for several hours before the attack and following it. It is now suspected that this was a small unmanned airplane of the type used by the American forces for spying in Afghanistan and Iraq. These aircraft carry special video cameras and send back live television of the area they are over to the American commanders far away, and are used for tracking targets and for controlling attacks.

Official: CIA Killed Al Qaeda Suspects in Yemen......Bravo!
(I hope the CIA is back in the business of hiring thugs, crooks, and other human rights abusers to hunt down and kill al Qaeda members.

Here's a link to CNN's article.
I got an especially warm fuzzy from this part:
Walid Al-Saqqaf, managing editor of the Yemen Times, told CNN that Ali was identified by a mark on his leg, which was blown off in the blast and found nearby.
Am I a bad person?

Official: CIA Killed Al Qaeda Suspects in Yemen Good hunting, boys!!! And it's really fitting that the terrorist scum were killed with Hellfire missiles, because that's where they're going!!
To: Pharmboy
Did they launch from in front of the car so the scum could see it coming?
To: Pharmboy
Nothing but black ashes. YAHOOOO!!!
To: Pharmboy
I read somewhere on FR that those UAVs can stay in the air for a long time, days even. And then deliver the Hellfire right on target.
Good shooting CIA!

A missile fired by an unmanned CIA drone hit a car believed to be carrying
suspected al Qaeda members in Yemen Sunday and killed several occupants...
I'm sure some witty person has already suggested this, but here goes...
Looks like the old phrase of "maybe outmanned, but never outgunned" needs updated to
MAYBE UNMANNED, BUT NEVER OUTGUNNED
nice to see our tax dollars have bought some useful technology.

Now they just need to apply the same "policy" to Yassir Arafat...then Crown Prince Abdullah...then Hosni Mubarak...then that Assad fellow in Syria and oops, don't forget Saddam... Time to start the ball rolling and get this show on the road already!

Bush cleaning up after Clinton again?
I though Clinton said he'd hunt down those who bombed the Cole.
Clinton lied, of course. There were hot babes to chase. Hey, it's a matter of priority!
To: Pharmboy
Very kewl...good policy too.
Shoot first, ask questions...well...never in this case!
Thank you CIA!
