Yes, MN will vote on the basis of perception. Many thought HHH, for instance, would have abolished poverty entirely. There was a 1960 campaign song that said: "We're gonna' vote for Hubert Humphrey, We're gonna' vote for Hubert Humphrey, Because he'll make everyboyd happly. Because he'll make everybody happy." Yet the Iron Range is a very poor section of the U.S. still.
Mondale doesn't have to debate. He also knew that few people watch Friday night debates during high school football season. So why bother with a potential minor gaffe in a debate that few are watching? Mondale also knows MN, and knows the poor will always rally to him. Of course, not everyone in MN is poor anymore.

Dog Gone, I understand Frank Lautenberg is doing poorly in his debates. But the NJ "democracy" is still for Lautenberg. These voters just aren't watching these debates. They are going out, watching network TV, or renting tapes from the local Blockbuster store.

Walter should import Gary Hart to cut an ad for him! But there's too little time to round up Gary, I suppose.

Mr. Coleman, a Democrat-turned-Republican, repeated his campaign theme that "the future is now" and that the old politics of rigid partisanship and gridlock had to be overcome by problem-solvers who can move legislation through. In other words, it won't make a difference if Coleman or Mondale is elected.

"Where is the Beef, Walter?"LOL...I had forgotten all about that!

I don't know the demographics of New Jersey, but I suspect they've deteriorated to the point where no Republican can be elected unless the Democrat is scorned by other Democrats.

"What does Mondale wear? Depends...."LOL...perfect!

It's not Mondale's age that matters, it's his old ideas. And those ideas would be old and unworkable if they came from a 20 year old. For some, (like you) wisdom come with age. For others ( like Mondale ), gray hair comes with age. You made the right call...

"Not ALL of us!! We can't help it that the state has a large population of ignorant morons..."Don't forget all the registered Democrats at the mosques in Detroit.

NO....he's a Democrat with NOTHING to offer...that's why they don't want him debating. AGE doesn't really have anything to do with it.

"NO....he's a Democrat with NOTHING to offer...that's why they don't want him debating. AGE doesn't really have anything to do with it."Yep...his brain shifted into neutral sometime during the '70's. I DO NOT want the slimeball who helped Carter to nearly destroy this country in the late '70's getting ANOTHER CHANCE to destroy this country in the first decade of the 21 st century.

In other words, it won't make a difference if Coleman or Mondale is elected. A majority in the Senate lets the Republicans control the agenda. Would you rather the Dasshole maintain his power?
A RINO in Minnesota is better than either Wellstone or Mondale, or do you disagree?

A majority in the Senate lets the Republicans control the agenda. If the republicans are democrats then what good is control? By the way, the republicans didn't do squat when they had control so what difference does control make?
A RINO in Minnesota is better than either Wellstone or Mondale, or do you disagree?
I disagree. If the RINO votes the same way that Mondale would vote, what's the difference?

Your answer Dasshole or a Republican in charge?
Your answer, a RINO, a Green, a socialist, Mondale, or Wellstone (if he were still alive)?
Who do you choose for these 2 positions? Deal with reality.

Why don't you deal with reality. What's the difference between Lott and Daschle?

You're right. Let's let the Federal and Supreme Court judges go to the next President. After all, both parties are the same side of the coin.

Let's let the Federal and Supreme Court judges go to the next President. I notice that you still won't tell me what the difference between a former democrat and Mondale is. Nor the difference between Lott and Daschle.
But this one is easy for sure. Some of the worst judicial decisions have come from the republican appointed Justices of the Supreme Court. While there might be a difference in where the court errs, it will err all the same unless the justices are strict in interpreting the Constitution. It is a disgusting tribute to the court for instance to note that there hasn't been a 2nd amendment case granted Certiori since 1939 in spite of the fact that there are 20,000 federal laws in effect defying the constitution's admonition: "...shall not be infringed."
Or even worse: "Congress shall make no law ....abridging the freedom of speech."
The Republicans were instrumental in crafting the latest slap in the face - campaign finance "reform." They don't want it struck down by a strict constitutional judge. They want their agenda upheld.

Mr. Coleman is actually pretty conservative.
