[history]
Though it was billed as a memorial service, many irate viewers and Republican leaders said the gathering for U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone and five others degenerated at times into a blatant political rally.
"What a complete, total, absolute sham," said Vin Weber, a former U.S. representative from Minnesota. "The DFL clearly intends to exploit Wellstone's memory totally, completely and shamelessly for political gain. To them, Wellstone's death, apparently, was just another campaign event."

It seems to me that the RATS might be scared. They have no shame in doing things that maybe a few years ago would have seemed a little over the edge, even for them. Unbelievable what they are getting away with these days, but people aren't stupid, and I think that more and more registered democrats are going to start to see right through them.In total agreement. Notice that class warfare is no longer resonating, some blacks are beginning to see that, as long as they remain on the Dem "plantation" that THEY are the "house slaves", and that Dem policies relating to our security have just plain failed us.

I didn't think very much of Wellstones politics, but I believed he was a good man. He didn't deserve this.
This was a disgusting display and if this is what the people of Minnesota are like...........whew!

Just about the only ballsy thing Lott has ever done.He probably had to use the toilet and got lost.

When asked what the station might do to address complaints, he said the station probably wouldn't worry as much about over-covering a reported visit from President Bush on Sunday to garner support for Coleman. Good. If they can cover a Democrat-get-out-the-vote-for-the-dead-rally, I'm sure they can give a few extra minutes to a respectable man.

"You're out of your friggin mind. NO WAY!!!!!!!! Republicans are polite whimps." It's called "keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer."

I think I am getting sick. Literally. Incredible. There is such a thing as laughing at memorial services. I understand that. This is PURE EVIL JOY! SCUM!

For those of you who do not recognize the man on the right wearing the bow tie, it's Alan Page, Minnesota Supreme Court Justice and former Minnesota Viking's defensive lineman and Football Hall of Famer.
As a lifelong Vikings fan, I have always been a fan of Justice Page, regardless of the politics. The things I most admire have nothing to do with football. He has never been satisfied with 'good enough'. He is truly a great man.
Please tell me he was just there paying his respects. If Alan Page was involved with this disgrace in a real way, I might just lose it. If the RATS have corrupted this decent and honorable man, they need an a$$-whuppin Reagan-style.

I was struck with a similar thought. After my own father passed away, I considered speaking at his funeral, but ultimately realized the folly of the idea. I wouldn't have made it through the first sentence without breaking down. The Wellstone offspring was eerily composed, almost robot-like.

This proves beyond any doubt, there is NOTHING the Dems won't do to win. There's only two times Rats will surprise you. The first is when you think, "they can't possibly sink that low." The second is when you think, "surely the American people aren't stupid enough to believe that>"

Democrats would slap a campaign sticker on a coffin. I watched the memorial/rally, and it was just plain ghoulish.

I hope this doesn't only turn off your neighbors in Minnesota but also your neighbors in your home state of South Dakota. I hope this thing backfires nationally.

Republican political analyst and lobbyist Sarah Janecek, who attended the service at the University of Minnesota's Williams Arena, said: "I lost a lot of respect for my fellow Democrats." Reminds me of when Dan Quayle referred to his 'fellow astronauts'. I know what she meant, but it's still kind of funny. That's the only funny thing about the whole situation.

Ventura is on the radio this AM in outrage. Reports his wife was crying on the way home because of the direction the "memorial" went.
A lot of people in MN are pissed today.
Bush is here later this week. MN GOP should DEMAND his stump speech here is televised.
