Vietnam was a Noble Cause
By Darren Morrison
I have heard for years how the Vietnam war was only political, that we had no business there. Collage professors and aging hippies think they won the day. But they bring discredit to the veterans who fought that war. I want people to know that Vietnam was a noble cause. I want our Vietnam veterans to know that their efforts were not in vain, to shed light on some truth that some tried to put away in darkness; to not only bring healing but honor to those great men and some woman of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard and honor to those names on the wall, that they did not die for nothing.
I was very young during the Vietnam war. In fact I was in 2nd grade during the fall of Saigon. But as I grew into a young man I began to hear more and more about the war in Vietnam. I was told by a hool teacher who were more likely of those who shamed our vets, that this was an unjust war. When I was in high school the movie Hair came out. Hair was a movie that glorified the hippies and anti-war movement. To my own discredit that movie had an influence on me. I began to listen to the Beatles and the Grateful Dead and other music of that era. I yearned to be like them and started using drugs and then ran away from home at 17 ending up in Florida and my so called hippie friend left me there as he went on to somewhere else. Well that was a shattering experience and I went back home. I took my headband bandana off and I joined the Army National Guard.
There in the National Guard I was in a unit that had Vietnam and Korean war vets in it at the time. I got to hear some of their stories. Not once did any of them say that their emery was kind. I heard about the dirty warfare these Viet Cong did. I heard real horror stories and it was not anything like the hippie explained. These guys were there. They were in the muck. The hippies were not there. So why were the hippies so concerned with the Viet Cong? Why did they care about the welfare of them but not our boys? They called our guys killers of women and children when the Vietcong were using women and children to kill our boys.
Well nobody ever says that World War Two was in vain. Nobody would dare say how bad it was to kill Nazis. We know what that National Socialists did over there dont we. Some of us have heard how cruel the Japanese were to the Chinese and how they forced thousands of Okinawins over cliffs. We know about the concentration camps. Yes we know how many boys gave it there all on Normandy and Iwo Jima. There is no doubt in any Americans mind that what we did in World War Two was worth it. We helped to rid the world of an evil. Yes World War Two was a noble cause.
Then Korea and Vietnam were noble causes as well. The evil we were fighting over there was even more evil than the national socialist party. This is a more sinister version of Marxism called communism. Korea was both backed and supplied by Red China. Make no mistake we were fighting China over there as well. China was more visible in Korea but their presence was known about in Vietnam as well. In many ways The communist party makes the National Socialist party look like boy scouts. They are just different brands of Marxism applied differently. Communists are ruthless GOD haters. They kill Christians and anyone with a belief in GOD. Just look at Cambodia with Pol-Pot and his killing fields. These were the same tyrants America was fighting in Vietnam.
The Viet Cong killed any one who would not go along with their program. They claimed they were liberating the poor but what they really did was enslave them. You see the poor had no more food on their table after communism than before. Communists are GOD haters so there is no reason for them to tell the truth. The way Viet Cong treated their prisoners was inhuman. Even the Germans and Japanese were not that cruel. They way our boys were treated in North Vietnamese prison camps was cause enough to never trade with that county until that generation is dead. They even kept prisoners long after the war. In fact there is a possibility that there are still POWs over there to this day.
Viet Cong forced children strapped with explosives to go up to Americans then blow up killing themselves and the American and any one else near the blast. Communists dont believe in GOD so people are used as cattle. They used woman to fight their battles as well. They would inject their troops with opiates so they could get shot and keep on going. There was no since of humanity among theses tyrants of death.
So if we compare Hitlers National Socialism to Communism we will find that though Hitler was evil and horrible Communism is even worse. Remember the Tiananmen Square. When the people who communism was supposed to represent stood up for their rights they were killed like vermin. The streets of Tiananmen ran red with blood. If we think that Muslims invested terrorism I say they learned it from the communists. V.I. Lenin said with terror we will win the world to communism. Communism has caused the deaths of 150 million people. What a deadly ideology. The Catholics in there rampages could come close. Muslims have a lot of catching up to do to even come close to the death toll of communism.
After we left Vietnam They started rounding up all the critics of communism; Doctors, Lawyers, and school teachers. Anyone who had spoken out against communism, Chairman Moa or their brutal tactics were sent away for years to re-education camps where they were beaten and tortured having fingers cut off and given very little food. If they survived they were released and given the most menial jobs. Like highly skilled surgeons made to be cab drivers. Then all churches and Buddhist temples were burned to the ground. All bibles and other books of freedom and religion were burned. And you thought the left never burnt books. The poor farmer was now even poorer, because as always redistribution of the wealth is really and always redistribution of poverty.
Vietnam today is not picnic either, even though Bill Clinton has opened it to American trade. Vietnam was virtually living in the "dark-ages." Its state-owned enterprises were losing money, food was rationed, and shoes needed to be rationed. For the Vietnam Communist Party , not enough reform creates social instability that would challenge its legitimacy, but too much reform can do the same. Thus, the Vietnam Communist Party has made, unmade, and remade reforms since the mid-1980s in order to control social instability. Their system of communism never works except for the elite running things there. They want to keep living their life of luxury, just like the pigs in Animal farm. That is what Vietnam is, Animal farm If you have not read that book I encourage you to read it.
That is why Vietnam was a noble cause. They were fighting one of the most evil and dark forces in the world. We had the men and the machines to win that war. But there were too many communists here in the states. We did not lose the war. We were not allowed to slay the evil communist dragon because its tail was already here in America.
Yes there were Communists in our government already, despite McCarthys efforts. But there were even more communists out in the streets and in the college classrooms. All the major Hippy and Vietnam war protest groups were headed by communists. Yes there were not concerned for the outcome of the war or the innocent civilians but instead for their fallen comrades. I work at Colorado State University and I know for a fact that there are professors here that are hard line Stalinist communists, here in middle America. The 60s drug culture, hippie movement was a front for communist subversives. Most of the hippies were nothing more than useful idiots for the Marxists who ran things behind the scenes.
So this goes out to all that fought in Vietnam and in Korea. You fought for a good cause and dont let any one say anything different. Fighting the dirty evil communist is noble
Luckily, we got the cream of their society, and they'll be helping us continue to dominate the planet for a while.

I realized what a lie this was when I returned from Vietnam in 1968, because what Chronkite said was exactly the way it WASN'T.
Keep in mind also: Chronkite was the guy who was instrumental in bringing Dan Rather to CBS as a national correspondent.
Ol' Uncle Walter has a lot answer for.
As most who spent time in Viet Nam know, today's terrorists are using tactics honed by the Viet Cong and NVA in Viet Nam, the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and the Pathet Lao in Laos. Unfortunately, the American media and their leftist friends never bothered to report on the myriad atrocities they committed (especially the genocide of highland tribes in Viet Nam), and when they did it was always couched in a sort of Orwellian newspeak that apologized for any action undertaken by an enemy guerrilla force.
Unfortunately, with regard to the media's treatment of our enemies, we are beginning to see history repeat itself.
Thanks for all you do!
We killed the head of south Viet Nam. We went against the guy in the North who had been our ally in WWII. We lied to keep the fight going and kill even more of them and us. We sent the country into serious debt. We wouldn't let them be, because in all liklihood their people would have voted communist on their own, something they had a right to do. We didn't give it our best shot and got even more of our folks killed. We lied to give the president extraconstitutional war powers. And the commies took over anyway.
So tell me about stability.
