They could be charged, but no jury in Mtg would convict cops for killing people fleeing the scene where the cops witnessed them shooting two people. This ISN'T California

"They could be charged, but no jury in Mtg would convict cops for killing people fleeing the scene where the cops witnessed them shooting two people. This ISN'T California" Montgomery would have been burned to the ground if two black guys had been shot in the back.

They could be charged, but no jury in Mtg would convict cops for killing people fleeing the scene where the cops witnessed them shooting two people That is the problem - the cop did not see them SHOOT the Women, he HEARD the shots, and when he got to the scene he saw the two men going through their purses.
Yes, it is quite easy to assume these were the perps - less than a minute after the shooting. BUT under our mayor's policy - since he DID NOT SEE them shoot, DID NOT SEE the gun, and WAS NOT IN IMMINENT DANGER since the perps ran - he was forbidden to fire his weapon.

I consider Alabama my home. I've visited other states temporary because of the job market, but have every intention of retiring in Alabama (Mobile). You're right, an Alabama jury would probably not convict, but police know that their jobs would be on the line and it may be a long time before they can clear their name, etc.
Why do you think if the policeman was 2 feet from the fleeing suspects that he did not shoot? Even in Alabama the rules have changed. Someone listed the new rules for Montgomery, but I don't remember what thread it was.
