3rd Person Involved in Beltway Sniper Case? Montgomery AL Police Chief Wants to Know.
Fox News ^ | 27 Oct 02 | Rita Cosby

Posted on 10/27/2002 8:57:58 PM PST by Alas Babylon!

Rita Cosby interviewed Montgomery, AL Mayor Bobby Bright and Police Chief John Wilson. Wilson told Cosby he was very concerned because both Muhammed and Malvo were on foot, being chased by police officers. The chase was interrupted by a large blue car that Muhammed ran into, putting both hands on the hood to prevent him coliding with it. After this moment, both men being chase escaped. Later--still in September, Montgomery police put out a public call for the driver of the blue car to come forward; fingerprints on the car could be used to break the case. However, and a little surprisingly, no one came forward.

Now Chief Wilson is concerned about the car. It was going through a fast food drive thru when the foot chase began. Wilson explained that BOTH Mohammed and Malvo were, at that moment, being persued on foot. Then the blue car came directly at Muhammed, nearly hitting him. Shortly after, the foot chase ends with the escape of Muhammed and Malvo. Wilson is concerned the car is in fact the blue 1990 cheverolet that Muhhamed and Malvo were using in Washington. He then stated he is concerned that if this is the case, then who was driving this car on September 21st, while Muhammed and Malvo were being chased on foot by Montgomery, Alabama policemen?

Holy smokes...I didn't know anything about that...

I don't think it's unfair to speculate that "Mr. Blue Car Driver" might have been an accomplice to the Alabama shooting. Where was Osbourne at the time...

Mr. Osbourne is becoming more and more interesting. As co-owner, of course his prints are going to be in the car.

As co-owner of a vehicle used in several felonies, he is more than just a 'material witness.' I mean, when's the last time you purchased something jointly with another individual? Especially an individual that you didn't know well enough to realize he was going to use it to go on a murder spree?

And while we're at it, why was Mr. Osbourne in Flint, Michigan when they picked him up yesterday? Isn't he a resident of New Jersey? Or am I being overly suspicious?

"Or am I being overly suspicious? "

I don't know if that is possible in this case.

Okay, what is the purchase date and the date of the Montgomery, AL shooting?

I am surprised you haven't heard. The NJ registration date was 9-11-02 and I believe the ALA shooting was 9-21.

I don't think there's anyway these two walked from the Greyhound Bus terminal here in Montgomery to the ABC store where they shot those ladies. Not a short or simple hike

I agree w/ you. What kind of Chief has Rules of Engagement that forbid officers from firing their weapons at suspects fleeing a possible DOUBLE HOMICIDE?

They could be charged, but no jury in Mtg would convict cops for killing people fleeing the scene where the cops witnessed them shooting two people. This ISN'T California

No, HJ, you're not being overly suspicious. Add to that that Osbourne was "sharing" a car with a man who lived 3,000 miles away from him (Camden, NJ - Bellingham, WA). This "material witness" business is likely a stopgap, until the auhtorities figure out just who this man is, what his role is, and what they want to do with him.

Wasn't the reg date 9/11/2001? See post with timeline - somewhere around post #49 / #50.

Montgomery would have been burned to the ground if two black guys had been shot in the back.

No, the car was registered on the 9-11
anniversary date in '02. That part of
the timeline is in error.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply they did. They certainly didn't walk from the Greyhound bus station in Baton Rouge to the homes of Muhammed's relatives either. They took a taxi. Nor did they walk to the Baton Rouge YMCA where he and Malvo worked out several times. Reportedly, they had and used what the Y calls AWAY cards while in Baton Rouge and also at the Y in Hammond Louisiana. Hammond is also on the bus route to Montgomery.

On some thread it was mentioned that the director of the homeless shelter in Washington state became suspicious when a travel agency called there for Muhammed. Homeless shelter residents do not usually require the services of a travel agent. Another thread had information about the credit card account they wanted the $10M deposited to, the card was stolen on a Greyhound bus from the driver in Arizona this past March. It was used a few days later in Tacoma. When they left Baton Rouge Muhammed's relatives dropped them off at the Greyhound bus station. Travel agents do not issue Greyhound bus tickets. So it appears that the two of them used various forms of transportation other than the blue caprice to get around the country.

That's where a woman he met at truck driving school (in Indiana or Illinois) lives, she has been described his fiance. IIRC it's also has a signifigent concentration of Muslims.

That is the problem - the cop did not see them SHOOT the Women, he HEARD the shots, and when he got to the scene he saw the two men going through their purses.

Yes, it is quite easy to assume these were the perps - less than a minute after the shooting. BUT under our mayor's policy - since he DID NOT SEE them shoot, DID NOT SEE the gun, and WAS NOT IN IMMINENT DANGER since the perps ran - he was forbidden to fire his weapon.

It is a good rule of thumb NOT to correct someone with someone else's incorrect information.
