Rita Cosby interviewed Montgomery, AL Mayor Bobby Bright and Police Chief John Wilson. Wilson told Cosby he was very concerned because both Muhammed and Malvo were on foot, being chased by police officers. The chase was interrupted by a large blue car that Muhammed ran into, putting both hands on the hood to prevent him coliding with it. After this moment, both men being chase escaped. Later--still in September, Montgomery police put out a public call for the driver of the blue car to come forward; fingerprints on the car could be used to break the case. However, and a little surprisingly, no one came forward.
Now Chief Wilson is concerned about the car. It was going through a fast food drive thru when the foot chase began. Wilson explained that BOTH Mohammed and Malvo were, at that moment, being persued on foot. Then the blue car came directly at Muhammed, nearly hitting him. Shortly after, the foot chase ends with the escape of Muhammed and Malvo. Wilson is concerned the car is in fact the blue 1990 cheverolet that Muhhamed and Malvo were using in Washington. He then stated he is concerned that if this is the case, then who was driving this car on September 21st, while Muhammed and Malvo were being chased on foot by Montgomery, Alabama policemen?

I live not far from Montgomery. My daughter attended summer school only two blocks from the ABC store where the murders took place.
Who, indeed, was driving this car, especially if it was the Caprice these two were caught in?

Who, indeed, was driving this car, especially if it was the Caprice these two were caught in? Obviously, it was a white Christian male, aged 20-30, who is an NRA member with some military experience.

... and they were going to a gun show, where criminals are allowed to buy assault weapons without a background check, thanks to the do-nothing Congress that still hasn't closed the gun show loophole.
(There, can I get a job at Reuters yet?)

Wouldn't LE know who the driver was by now since they've dusted for prints? That's assuming the driver has had a reason to be printed.

HMm Looks like maybe Mr. Nathaniel Osborne needs to verofy his whereabouts on Sept 21.

Why was this taken out of breaking news?
Surely, if true, this would add a lot to the case.
I hope you don't doubt my varicity on this matter, it was just NOW on Fox News.

I dunno Mol! Sounds like some more white van crap to me.

This was over a month ago, depending on whether the driver then has been in the car recently, it is concievable the the only liftable prints are Muhammed and Malvo's.
Also, police would have no reason to dust the car, they know who's car it is. Now they have a reason.

Seriously, were there three of them? It wouldn't surprise me at all. Chief Wilson appears to be one the few real police guys involved in the investigation (as opposed to all the politicans at the federal level and in Baltimore).
As such, his opinion is worth more than the bozos up north who ran most of the investigation.

Running the VIN will detail the previous owners. Perhaps the car was taken from the driver after Williams murdered the driver and the used car place in New Jersey was able to create a provinance for the thing in order to 'sell' it to Williams and Osbourne. I would love to get the VIN numbers off of that car!

It might be more "white van crap" - but after this shooting the Montgomery police ran crime stopper ads constantly asking for the owner of the Blue car to come forward.
You would think that someone in a fast food drive through has a man running from police run into his car - they would remember that. They wouldn't be sitting at home seeing the announcement (It was on all stations here) an go - oh must be someone else's blue car that hit a man being chased by a cop.

They know the cars history - it was a police car at a township in NJ and was sold surplus to Sure Shot Auto Sales (interesting name huh) before becoming the most famous Blue Caprice in history.

With this case .. heck anything is possible .. but I do recalled reading an article from the area paper mentioning that Muhammed and this blue car was seen in the Camden, NJ I think 3 days before the last shooting .. which is where Osborne was known to have lived
