Unfortunately, while Reagan was president I was still gripped in the fog of overwhelming lefty propaganda and ridicule by hollywood types and such. Even my smoke addled brain could see he was far better than Carter, though. I really need to research Reagan better and find video of his speeches. I was a bit young for valid political thought at the time, perhaps.

I remember that -- somehow, I just knew that there were survivors in that submarine and I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't take our help. It bothered me then, and it bothers me now. I've never been underwater like that, but they were brave men who didn't deserve to die like that.

33 Terrorists and 10 Hostages dead is the count as of 3:10 AM EST. These are incedible numbers, considering what they were up against

[These matters have to be delt with quickly and with stringth. The terrorists count on slow and over calculated movements. . .There is only one way to deal with the terrorists, kill them.]

. . .interesting points - could not agree more; and there can be no debate about the last one. . .

Cannot imagine the ordeal of these hostages, but much credit to be given; that so many survived.

Great news! I always enjoy hearing about the deaths of our common Islamic foe. In the words of Maggie Thatcher, "Rejoice! Rejoice!"

"Trust Russian justice to give them the end they really deserve. . . ."

. . .yes, they came 'willing/wanting to die'; they probably did not consider losing. . .and surviving to 'talk about it'. . .so to speak.

Yes indeedy, "Rejoice! Rejoice!"

Maybe when many more of these cowardly bastards are swimming with the fishes, They will get the message that we will no longer put up with their nonsense as the entire free world stands with us as we eliminate them across the globe. There is no other answer than to hunt them down and kill each and every one of them. This is no longer a process of identifying which groups support these terrorists, We know who they are and we, as freedom loving people, need to rid the world of this clear and present danger.

I can't remember who said this, or exact wording
"In the first half ofthe 20th century, the most important thing shall be that both England and America speak english. In the latter half and beyond, what shall matter is that both America and Russia are white"
A bit overstated, and mistaking race for culture, but seems he had a point.

The prisoners could sit there and tell everything they know before they're even touched and it still would make absolutely no difference to the process. We will not be seeing any of them again, but they'll be around for a lot longer than they'll want to be.

GOOD!

It may have been more civilized, but it also slaughtered tens of millions more than Islamofascism. The Islamofascists wished they could kill a 100 million in a century like the Marxists did.

Where do you think the Christians who used to live in North Africa, the former Byzantine empire, the Middle East, Persia, etc. all went?

Yes, the Communists were definitely an evil empire, and their technical capabilities (what they didn't steal from us) came out of their Western heritage. But one thing sets an atheist Communist above an Islamic suicide bomber - the atheist at least wants to preserve his own life, even if he holds the lives of his enemies valueless. So there's a kernel of sanity there not found in radical Islam.

'O ye of little faith..."

How much faith do you have in the resolve
of a country that defends itself by ignoring
most likely terrorists at airports in favor of
searching old ladies and kids because the
fear of offending someone mistaken to be the
enemy is greating than the will to self preservation?

When the casualties in the US begin to mount, we will.

I'm afraid that is what it is going to take.  Another WTC.

Sorry I don't qualify, and I don't play one on TV. However I do have spec. ops. friend with 23 years experience and a special forces husband. Seems to me time is best served on this forum sharing information and educating fellow conservatives instead of alienating people who selected a different occupation that did you. Suit yourself.

PC Paralyses kicks in.

I am not concerned with your effeminate feeling about my interaction on this thread.

Stick with nagging your husband to death.

LOL

Sheesh.

As of about an hour ago...Saturday 3:30 pm I have 90+ hostages killed. As more hostages who were shot during the event die in the coming days….the numbers will grow. I don’t quite understand the inability for Freepers [of all people] to detach themselves emotionally and approach this situation looking for data and not meledrama.

For the Russian Authorities [and seemingly many Freepers] the numbers are acceptable. I promise you that in the western SpecFor Community they are not. Here in the US had we lost 90+ hostages in this sort of scenario….some of the shooters would discreetly lose their jobs [and rightfully so]. (BTW: The wacky waco crowd can save their shallow retorts….JSOC & Delta would’ve been running this show, not the FBI, ATF, CIA, State Department, Red Cross or the Council on Foreign Relations.)

With 700+ hostages 5-10 [at the very most] hostages killed by your own entry team would be acceptable on this side of the pond. Anything higher reveals serious problems with planning or execution.
80+ Hostages killed by the Muslims reveals poor execution or planning, take your pick. Either way this wasn’t a rip roaring success by hostage rescue standards.
The know nothing “A win is a win so shut up!” PC paralyses crowd will always be around. But for guys like me….the final tally of hostages killed is the indicator of mediocrity or glowing success.

Sorry if reality sucks to some folks but that is what drives the rest of us.

From my end it looks like A. The Muslims started to grasp that they were slowly being gassed and opened fire forcing the Russians to storm the building or B. The Hostages tried to make a break for it and forced the Muslims hand which in turn forced the Russians hand. C. The Russians initiated a breach and took the building at all costs.

The first two scenarios suck for the Russians. If the third is what happened then this was piss poor planning and execution.

Bottomline.

If the Russians initiated a well coordinated breach and stormed the building clean then 90+ simply doesn’t happen.
If the Russians were reacting to what the Muslims were doing and went in guns blazing with aim points lower then head level…then 90+ can happen.

I suspect the latter.

In the end….they took the building and prevented the Muslims from killing everyone. So by Russian military standards, it was a good op.
By American, British or Israeli military standards, it would’ve ended up being an opportunity to learn from mistakes while the media crucified the President, the SecDef and the hostage rescue teams for their incompetence…..all while explaining the emotional and economic plight of the Muslim terrorists [and the conspiracy theorist Freepers made unfounded recriminations against the evil federal government].

Anyone disagree?
