Yep...low velocity means the round'll stay in place...especially when hollow point. But if you're aiming low in a room full of people freaking out and flying left and right...the odds of hitting hostages rises.
I wouldnt expect headshots on all terrorists but I would put two shooters on the targets[women] holding the switches for the explosives. One shooter to double tap the sternum[sp] and the second for the headshot.
I dont see any head shots on the females. I dunno. I am a million miles away so we'll have to see how it plays out.

Way to go SpezNaz!!! Thank God for the lives that have been saved!
Didn't think I would live to see the day the any action by the SpezNaz was linked with God!

Amen. One CNN reporter described the Chechen terrorists as "kamikazes" several times. What a freaking joke!

Haha...I am dead serious.
They could offer me the chairmanship of the NYSE and I'd ask them for a lan-line to Philadelphia.

Score one for the Russians.

Lets talk about military force engaging for control and rescue hostages, of a highly defended urban arena without huge casualties.
Nicely done. A complete success in my opinion. The Russians must have some of the best Hostage Rescue Teams in the world, because that wasn't a simple raid, and the complexity of the situation was extraordinary to accomplish with even marginal success.
I hope they are always our allies.

Note to self - things to be avoided: do
not under any circumstances take over a public building in Moscow, murder hostages, and then be taken alive.
I'm hoping the Russkis will share the intel they're about to gather. I don't want to think about how.

I'm watching the repeat of Hannity & Colmes and Ollie North is ripping Alan Colmes a new one, And as usual Alan Colmes is defending Islam and running cover for the fact that Islam is a false religion

Can you elborate on their methods of "communication" with captured terrorists? I already know what the chechens do during their "play".
Another thread reporting from Russian news says hostage death toll is right now around 30, but several serious injuries in the hospitals. One Australian still missing.

Wow, you were commo back then? Any cool radios you guys used? I always wanted a Collins URR390A or 392.. Welcome Home , though.

"I hope they are always our allies."Me too my friend. I hope GWB continues working with the Russians as we confront the real threats to our freedoms and civilization itself. These Religous finatics are a major threat to peace around the globe and until we face this fact we will continue to see events like 9/11, Bali and situations like Moscow has been through in the last few days.
Russia is also in desperate need of our help with their economy and between our products and their Oil, the future is bright :-)

Actually, this could be very good news. I'm sure the Russians have ways of making the arrestees spill the beans on any other terrorist plots they know about. Eggs-Zackly! You *know* those punk SOB's are planning similar techniques here in the good ole' US of A. Their MO is to cause the maximum grief with the minimum expenditure, actually, on our dime. Using our stuff. So, hostage situations here in the US has to be high on the radar screen. Thank You President Putin.

I'd better not, not on this forum. They had 70 years and a large captive population to practice on. They do not have any urgency in this matter, and they do not have Amnesty International taking pictures. The prisoners could sit there and tell everything they know before they're even touched and it still would make absolutely no difference to the process. We will not be seeing any of them again, but they'll be around for a lot longer than they'll want to be.

It's pretty simple in some respects, don't forget they sided with Herr Hitler during the Great Patriotic War. Thus, they were kind of persona non grata for a while, only being allowed to return to their homes in the 1950's.. They've had a rather rough time of it since the 90's.

Did anyone here over 30 think we'd ever be rooting for the Russians? The "Russians" were not our enemy. The "Communists" were and still are.
