I'm still cubicle bound ...Man, it's 11:30 on a Friday night. Who do you work for, Scrooge & Marley? Get the hell out of the office and grab a beer. Let's toast the Russians for a job well done tonight.

Did anyone here over 30 think we'd ever be rooting for the Russians? It's a funny thing about Russia...for a short while, back in the 1940's we were allies. There was even a saying, as I recall, that Russians were like Americans without the creases in their pants. That changed for awhile during the cold war.
But truth be told, I suspect that the US and Russia will become good friends. Perhaps American innovation combined with a drop of Russian ruthlessness is what's needed to win the war on terrorism.

I wonder how much help Putin & Co. had from US Intelligence and Terrorist experts, as well as probably Israeli help as they are very good at this stuff also. Probably we'll never know, but I'm sure Bush offered Putin help of some sort.

ABC just reported that the Hostages tried to make a break for it....the Muslims opened fire....and SpecFor went in.
If that is the case....wow.

Did you say Schlotzsky's?
I'll have an original on jalapeno bread. Yum!

. But I am not sure "levelling Grozny" is really the "final solution" to this particular problem. No, but it's a good start. Taking down Saudi Arabia and obliterating the PLO
will lead to the final solution.

Did anyone here over 30 think we'd ever be rooting for the Russians? No, one of my most vivid childhood memories is duck and cover drills in elementary school which would supposedly save us when Russia hit us with the big one.

How come they didn't blow themselves up as promised? They were the moderate ones.

Having trouble letting go of the Cold War?I did. Prayer for the Spetznaz to win was a major hurdle. I'm glad they did. Thank God there was no mass casualties or massive explosions. Prayers for the hostages and all of their families.

I think we can be pretty certain that this is the end for him. Shoot him 9 times, just to be safe.

Having trouble letting go of the Cold War? When the Russians do the kind of thing they did tonight, I have no trouble at all. But when they reject draft after draft of our eminently reasonable Iraqi resolutions, I find myself drifting back to a bygone era.

Yes, FNC is blowing it.I agree!
Fox tried using their Sky News folks a while back but the formats just don't mesh. Sky is loaded with liberal flunkies who just don't connect with American audiences.
I don't believe Fox has any stations in that part of the world. They are more interested in China and the ME.

Man, it's 11:30 on a Friday night. Who do you work for, Scrooge & Marley? Ahhhh...but I start work at 5PM!
I've had all day to loaf, or in today's case, practice piano for some upcoming recitals.
Otherwise your advice would be right on the money. And maybe I'll drink a beer anyway.

intelligence help and anything else they could do.

Maybe during the first Chechen War. But during the Second Chechen War it became clear that Wahhabists were taking it over for jihad purposes.
