Moose was in over his head but he did what he could with the tools and abilities - NOT only his - he had to work with. And unlike some I don't think he hogged the camera. Instead I thought he was rather reserved. He always spoke in a deliberate, if not articulate fashion, and conveyed what was necessary to try to communicate with the perp.

When they had this last press conference yesterday I was surprised at the way this man talked.( we're not discussing cold fusion here) His "Pauses" were overemphasized and completely unnecessary.Look concerned,Pause, say 5 words,pause, look to the right, 15 words, dramatic pause.Enough already, someone send this guy a lifetime membership to Toastmasters, O.K.? I agree. The Montgomery police chief exuded competency. He was tough, direct, articulate and helpful to the media without compromising the case, whereas Moosehead sounded like a street-corner crack dealer.

Chief Moose just got back at Wolf Blitzer in an interview on CNN. Moose asked Blitzer why CNN did not report to LE that the sniper had made a phone call to them. First time I have seen Moose smile.
