Not really..

The view from behind that piece in action --- seems to shut down all other senses...

The efficiency and destruction is literally dumbfounding.
The vision at night, with a few M60s with interlocked fields of fire, using 1:7 tracers -- is a beautiful sight in a deadly sort of way...when you're behind them and looking forward..

They're the "poor Marine's" Quad 50s....

>>>I did not understand why Travis was angry until I went back to #3 and read what you said. I'll be nicer(a little)!
>>>You don't seem to understand that the time for understanding is over!

Both you guys have serious trouble with reading comprehension. I was indicating a desire to know, if he had connections to Islamic terrorist organizations. I never said anything about understanding. Get some new eyewear and check out my post at RE:#33. Then shut up already.

Yeah, I vacillate between thinking this Bush is not his father, and then worrying he just might be.

My money is still on his inherent decency.

Thus, he'd better pound the !&#@ out of them soon.

I don't care to get on your good side, not when your blasting me for something I never said. I want you to stop and think before you speak. I'm not your whipping boy, boy!

All I know is the Northwest Jihadist connection is pretty strong. Both he and Battle were mixing with the same group in this neck of the woods. That includes the Mosque a few blocks from my house that has been called the most extreme in the country. Oh, and by the way, that Mosque's Imam was arrested at the Portland airport with traces of explosives in his luggage. There's an old saying like 'Lay down with islamofacists and you get up with Jihadist fleas'.(or something like that) Just my opinion from observation and too many years of watching the downward spiral of my beloved Country.

I agree with all you said until the end. THEY will be dead. The Islamikazis on the whole are as stupid and self deluded as John Mohammed and his $10 million dollar credit card scheme. They can kill a lot of folks, but have no strategy for victory.

They are just Islemmings, racing for a cliff, and are too stupid to see it.

We are very indulgent in the West, but if our neighbor's nasy terrier keeps running out and biting our ankle, sooner or later we will drop kick that mutt into tomorrow.

Now, if there are any good reasons why we should not call an islamic terrorist an islamic terrorist, I'd sure like to hear them. You said it! and all the rest as well.

Wirestripper.......12d40 Combat Engineer, Expert M-14,16 and grenade (and now apparently a trained sniper as well!)

Who woulda thunk it!

The fact that he may not be directly connected with Alqaeda is meaningless!!!! He is a self appointed defender of Islam. A Islamic soldier of death!!!! You will never connect him to any country or group.

It's not likely that he is Al Qaeda. He may or may not be a "wannabe". But he clearly is a loser, sociopathic killer. Apparently not as sophisticated as we thought. Just lucky. You give him too much credit to call him a terrorist, he's just a crazy serial killer killing for sport.

As he spent most of his life as a soldier and his army training explains his shooting abiltiy to most non-military citizens, it is not an unusual descriptor. As for your feeling that it is a slur against the army, well thats your supersensitive interpretation.

re #74

The part that I find even more hilarious, OF COURSE HE IS QUALIFIED AT SOME LEVEL ON A RIFLE!!! He was in the F*(&!ng Army!!!! He better KNOW how to use a rifle.

For Pete's sake, I made expert more times than I can count on range..It got so old, my buddies and I used to go to the e-club the night prior to see who could get the most plowed and still shoot expert the next day. I know, bad example, but nonetheless, I still hold multiple award expert badges (hey, you never know when the enemy is going to throw Guiness at ya! )

Thanks for the info, Nam Vet.

This conflict we've been engaged in, with Islamic fundamentalists, has lasted now for some 23 years, ever since the Iranian Revolution of 1979. This latest round of terror attacks against America, will only further fuel the fire against Islam and Muslim's in general. A quick look back.

Iran Hostage Crisis, November 4, 1979 Bombing of U.S. Embassy in Beirut, April 18, 1983 Bombing of Marine Barracks, Beirut, October 23, 1983 TWA Hijacking, June 14, 1985 Berlin Discotheque Bombing, April 5, 1986 Naples USO Attack, April 14, 1988 Lockerbe Pan Am 103 Bombing, December 21, 1988 U.S. Embassy Bombed in Peru, January 15, 1990 World Trade Center Bombing, February 26, 1993 Attempted Assassination of President Bush by Iraqi Agents, April 14, 1993 Attack on U.S. Diplomats in Pakistan, March 8, 1995 Khobar Towers Bombing, June 25, 1996 U.S. Embassy Bombings in East Africa, August 7, 1998 Attack on U.S.S. Cole, October 12, 2000 Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Homeland, September 11, 2001 Beheading of Daniel Pearl, passover massacre in Israel.

I've been with signal and with combat engineers. Signal hangs wires and sets up relays. Combat engineers basically build structures that block flow or channel flow.

Sometimes they bangalor a fence.

They are combat support. But being expert with an m16 is good but not great....about 25-33% do it.

>>>You forgot the Crusades!

That's just the recent history.

I can still remember right after 9-11, when President Bush called the military action in Afhganistan, a crusade. That really seemed to piss off everyone. I thought it was great.

I was a bridge specialist, and demo. Engineers do alot. More than you may know.

But yes, it is a combat support role. No doubt about it.( especially nice when we got the hot coffee and showers) LOL!
