The only hate crime here is that he hated America and Americans.

>> Nah, they are hardly practicing 'muslims'....just disgruntled, angry, and bent on crime and attention.<<
You must be privvy to very intimate details of this case that the rest of us don't have. Can you confirm your hypothesis?
To: anniegetyourgun
You're angry because it doesn't fit your preconceived notions, that's all. After all, Al-Queda terrorists always knock over (rob) liquor stores!I worked with Black Muslim as clients..and many were VERY observant ....drinkers and druggers and crooks...there is a major spiritual disconnect..
To: anniegetyourgun
Not Islamic terrorism....not a practicing Muslim....just a couple of angry black criminals.
How can you possibly know this?
How did you get the background checks done so quickly?
To: KSCITYBOY
Precisely. See #199.

...the "expert" profilers, have been saying the sniper was a white domestic right-wing domestic.Well it is always easy to say the butler did it...

Annie, and to the few that agree with you, I have also seen you around for a long long time
I was at first surprised by what you were saying and what I was hearing on the news.
The emotions of everyone around here are running hot and deep. voicing an un-popular opinion will get un-popular, and un-friendly replys.
Everyone should take into consideration that all the facts are not in,
My biggest concern is now we will get disinformation like with several plane crashes, Waco, etc....
This is where the value of FR comes into play, in sorting out the truth,
Making or stating assumptions as will only cause confusion.
Possible links to terrorist training in Alabama, is still open, along with a bunch of other possibilities.

I don't see that this particular instance is a case of "war with Islam." This appears to me to be a case of an evil, stupid man who is also an opportunist. "I'll change my name to something Muslim, rob, kill, and maim, and excuse it all in the name of Allah if I have to."
It's way too early for this conclusion.
As this investigation unfolds, keep an eye out for the word : "Jamaat," as in Jamaat al Fuqra, Jamaat al Islam, or Jamaat al Tabligh (Jemaah, jemaat, gemaat, etc. are variants.). They are front groups for elements within Pakistan's ISI that are shoulder to shoulder with the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
Other camps like this have been linked to Pakistan, so we'll see. Check this out...
Amongst the alleged members of the TJ (Tablighi Jamaat) in the Muslim community in the US is Mr.Louis Fara Khan, the Black Muslim leader. The TJ operates in the US and the Caribbean directly through its own preachers deputed from Pakistan and also recruited from the Pakistani immigrant community in the US as well as through front organisations such as the Jamaat-ul-Fuqra founded in the 1980s under the leadership of Sheikh Mubarik Ali Gilani, who generally lives in Pakistan, but travels frequently to the US and the Caribbean.
The annual report on the Patterns of Global Terrorism during 1998 issued by the Counter-Terrorism Division of the US State Department states as follows of the Jamaat-ul-Fuqra: "Seeks to purify Islam through violence. Members have purchased isolated rural compounds in North America to live communally, practise their faith and insulate themselves from Western culture. Fuqra members have attacked a variety of targets that they view as enemies of Islam, including Muslims they regard as heretics and Hindus. Attacks during the 1980s included assassinations and fire bombings across the US. Fuqra members in the US have been convicted of criminal violations, including murder and fraud."

Neat. Clean. Easy.
Just like in the movies.

...to turn this dude over to me, then kindly look the other way. Lake Erie-style justice is like watching hot dogs being made. It ain't pretty.I hear that. Off subject kinda, but I had to read "How Green Was My Valley" in high school. It was about a large family in a Welsh coal mining town in the late 1800s. In one part, a little girl was raped and murdered and the rapist/murderer was caught. Interesting, the perp was described as a man during the investigation, but after guilt was determined he is referred to only as the "beast" and "it". "It" was turned over with unanimous consent to the girl's family. Details of their vengence aren't given, but the father and brothers took the "beast" up in the hills and a camp fire could be seen burning all night far away up there. No questions asked. Something like this does bring a desire for the old way of justice (and hell no, I don't mean mob lynchings, those were anything but justice).

This morning on FOX, they had a terrorism expert on the phone who said that these people don't have to be tied to Al-Q directly to be terrorists.... that after 9/11 Al-Q was calling out to the those who were in support of the attackers, or disenfranchised with America to take up the cause...he stated (and we here all know this) that the war with terrorism is not with Al-Q alone but with any jihadist group that will act out in concert with them.
What I'm really worried about is what that stupid message was about last night. It could be as simple as he has watched to many movies and fantasized about being caught by Bruce Willis/Arnold/Clint and they say that line so he wanted to hear it to complete the fantasy (this would be more likely if he were a angry white nazi militia male) but I have a fear that it was a signal to someone or a group.......all I know is I got a pit in my stomach when I heard it......I just don't know if this is really over .......

Someone should put together a tape of America's Funniest Profilers. You coul lead off with the Villiage Voice editorial from yesterday denouncing those of us who thought the perp would be muslim.
I wonder if the OKC/Iraq connection will get any attention now?

Can't know this....anymore than we can know these perps have connections to international terrorist groups. But unlike 70times7, I think it's psychologically much easier for us to think so than to believe we have a homegrown Gulf War vet in our midst who would do this to any fellow Americans.
To: anniegetyourgun
perhaps you are suggesting that all American muslims in this country should be shot? Not shot, but asked at every opportunity where their loyalties lie. Asked whether they believe in Islamic law and whether any country with a majority muslim population should be ruled by islamic law. They should be confronted with these questions wherever they go, every time they are on a public stage or run for public office.

Wouldn't it be easier to round them up and put them in camps to find that out?

Let me rephrase that to fit the mold: Those keystone cops couldn't catch their brother in a brothel. Everyone knows that the DOJ is just an ass and that John Ashcroft doesn't know his bum from his elbow. Besides, they have no track record to date of busting up cells in the northwest.
Better?
