The "experts" who said the sniper was a right-wing white guy and the anthrax (vanity)

While not all evidence is in, it looks like the sniper was a Muslim. Huge surprise to some.

All the newsmedia talking heads and the "expert" profilers, have been saying the sniper was a white domestic right-wing domestic. Even as more evidence mounted that this could possibly be terrorism, the networks did all they could to steer clear of it.

Freepers have been saying this was Islamic terrorism since day one. I guess that makes the Freepers smarter than the people whose job it is to profile. But we're really not smarter we just have common sense, and we're not afraid to be un-PC. We are at war with Islam, and anybody who tries to pretend that we're not is a fool.

One of the anthrax mailings said something along the lines of "death to america, death to israel, allah is great". This led the experts to believe that this is a domestic right wing terrorist. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that just like in the sniper case, the "experts" are wrong. We're at war with Islam here people, wake up.

Who said Al-Qaeda? We said Islamic Terrorists. They don't have to be foreign-born or ME to be Islamic Terrorists. If these two men end up being the guilty parties this fact will be shown over and over: Muslims + Terrorism=Islamic Terrorists.

Of course he is a terrorist .... just like Ted K. was. Ted was not a muslim, but still a murderous nutcase. This homegrown nutcase may have converted (though he clearly isn't a 'good' muslim for having committed blashphemy by claiming to be God), but that does not mean he is linked to Al-Queda or using any tactics that he didn't already learn from the US military.

White right-wing guy. Black muslim. What's the difference really?

To the Republicans, none. We would've been called racist, hateful, whatever if we make an issue that he was black/muslim.

To the Democrats, it makes all the difference in the world. They were going to launch a massive PR election campaign on the sniper if he turned out to be white and right-wing. They would have made this a central issue in all the networks and all the political advertisements. They are scumbags of the lowest kind.

If they'd left the race of sniper & his politics alone, we'd just all be collectively breathing a sigh of relief (Republican or Democrat) that he was caught. But, no, the Democrats FORCED this into the political scene--they are to blame for all this celebration on FR and for all the bitching on DU.

Because of that, I'm not ashamed to say that I'm happy this all backfired on the Democrats. YOU SCUMBAGS CAN'T FIRE UP YOUR MASSIVE PR CAMPAIGN SMEAR AGAINST CONSERVATIVES, WHITES, TALK-RADIO, NRA, ETC., NOW--NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAH!!!!

okay, time to breathe...

"Blame" Moose? Why? Looks like great police work to me. The pieces came together very quickly on someone with a very common physical description, driving a commonplace vehicle, in an area where he didn't live but knew very well. Information was managed correctly in a case which started with little physical evidence.

The NY Times this morning printed in their number one story that investigators were looking into ties to "skinhead militia groups".

In other news: NY Times editor travels to Chicago to accept the covetted Dewey-Wins Award for Journalism Excellence.

Annie,

I actually knew a Farrikhan 'soldier'; I worked and lived with the guy for a year. During that time he let me in on the big secret: "I like you; but when the 'Revolution' comes, I'll have to kill you."

This guy was converted in the early 70's and very active in the cause for a decade when I met him.

The 'connection' with al Quaeda is an idiological one, at least: radical Muslim extremism. Louie is just another mullah--an American mullah--with the same plan as every other mullah: an Islamic world.

The significant point is, I think, that the idiology of Radical Islam does justify evil and violence and death against the 'infidels'. If the liquor store employee is dead, no biggie: just collateral damage in furtherance to the cause....just doing Allah's work.

"Evil in service to Allah is no vice."

Your assertion that J Muhammad's a lone crazy is both true and false: alone, he's a lone madman; with his friends in Allah, he's one among many. Just situational, 'sall.

While I know that there are many moderate Muslims (I have worked with a few in the past), I am wondering if the radical wing of that faith is much larger than we have realized. I also wonder if they have co-opted chunks of Farrakhan's group (and Farrakhan himself, perhaps, given that he just got back from Iraq) as well as elements of the eco-terrorism groups.

I am not particularly a person with a conspiratorial mind-set, however, if one looks at the wide variety of KNOWN terrorists, we see the following:

John Walker Lindh (suburban rich white kid)
Jose Padilla(Hispanic gang member)
John Mohammed(Black Muslim ex-army)
Richard Reid (British)
Members of the Portland cell(Black Muslim and one ex-military)
Members of the Buffalo Cell (American citizens of Yemeni extraction)

Now, none of these people are Baptists or Catholics or Orthodox Jews. No Amish or Episopalians or Hindus or Buddhists. ALL OF THEM ARE MUSLIMS.

Now, I am NOT saying that all Muslims are terrorists. However, I do think one has to have one's head in the sand not to draw the conclusion that there is a pretty wide-reaching branch of the Islamic faith that is not wishing us well.

A retired NYC cop was saying that the profilers have never solved a single crime, and are useless to police work.

Sheesh, MORON, please try to understand something.

One of the points people have been making about Islam, is that there are potentially thousands of people UNAFFILIATED or TRAINED by organized terrorist groups that are nonetheless SYMPATHETIC and will commit MURDER in the name of ISLAM.

Are you truly that slow? I guess you don't think the LAX shooter was a terrorist? Even though later it came out that he DID have an Islamic Jihad connection.

Nice try, annie. I said that FOX was denying the Al Queda connection this AM, which to me, was indicative of the media putting their "no islamic terrorism" spin on this case. You know i have continued to suggest there is a terrorist connection. So let's not get into what the definition of is is.

My question to you, AGAIN, is WHY ARE YOU ALL OVER THE BOARDS PROTESTING A TERRORIST CONNECTION? I have clicked on your name only to find that you have been posting on 7 or 8 separate threads (this morning) denying the terrorist connection. Why the frantic protest?

One problem with your theory: the facts fail to fit it.

These guys never even visited the Alabama shootin' range.

John Muhammad's training apparently came, courtesy of the taxpayers, from the U.S. Army.

Does that mean the U.S. Army is out to get us, or is somehow "in league" with these guys? Hardly.

Nice post, MM. I'm surprised that not everyone gets it yet.

Excuse me, but has anyone mentioned the concept yet that this is, at its most base level, a HATE crime?

Where Action A and Action B are different actions, the existence of Action A does not necessarily preclude the advent of Action B.

OOps, Walid Phares(Arab?) just said that it's NOT important that these guys or anyone else are linked to Al Qaeda.

"Al Qaeda is the tip of the iceberg. The key is whether these men are sympathetic to the goals of any jihadist, not just a particular group"

Like I said, my question was geared toward the way you seemed to be discounting that he was muslim at all, not that he was AQ. While I don't think we should discount any possibility at this point, I agree that the AQ connection has yet to be made.

However, as several this morning have pointed out, just because someone claims to be a devout muslim does not necessarily limit their behavior, such as the strip-club visiting 911 terrorists.

Besides, I don't think the fact that he called himself God is a huge Islamic stretch. Islamic extremists claim to ACT in the name of Allah, so if he thinks he is acting for Allah, the message could have been directly from Allah, in his mind.

At any rate, when it comes right down to it, I don't care who or what he is. I just care that they got him.
