I take it this is a rhetorical question. PMSNBC has stated that there is "no information" regarding the shooters' motivation.

Some people, such as myself, suggest the fact that he changed his name to Muhammed might be a clue.

Folks need to get real. This is a crime spree on the part of two angry black Jamaican guys. His last name is something he used as cover and alias. He's a homegrown nutcase who co-opted his punk stepson. This guy doesn't even practice his 'faith.'

The "mainstream" media is already trying to disassociate this from Islam. See the LA Times bulletin exerpted at another post. I don't think it will fly, though.
