The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is pleased to announce the line-up of speakers appearing at the Patriots Rally for America II being held this Saturday, October 26, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Washington Monument at 17th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW.

Pledge of Allegiance Star Spangled Banner Invocation

Opening remarks by John Armor, constitutional lawyer, scholar and author.

2nd--Notra Trulock, Accuracy in Media.

3rd--George Holmes, Executive Director, CORE (Congress on Racial Equality).

4th--Evelyn Logan, New Hampshire State Coordinator, Second Amendment Sisters (SAS).

5th--Kevin Martin, African-American Republican Leadership Council.

6th--Adam Ramey, junior at George Washington University, vice-chair of Young Americans for Freedom, GWU.

7th--Darlene Kennedy, D.C. Coordinator for CORE.

8th--Dave Dilegge, USMCR (Ret.)

9th--Melinda Meador, Virgina State spokesperson, SAS.

Closing remarks, Kristinn Taylor, co-leader, D.C. Chapter of Free Republic

This is the schedule we sent to C-SPAN yesterday afternoon as requested by them for their decision on whether to cover our rally. We have not heard back from them as of this posting.

While there may be some adjustments to the line-up in the next few days, all speakers have confirmed their appearance.

We are honored that these fine people have accepted our invitations to speak in support of America and our troops as they fight the war on terrorism.

Thanks to CORE and their national spokesman, Niger Innis, for their strong support of the Patriots Rally for America II.

I do not know where you are (no profile flag), but if you are close enough to drive in, you can stay at "Taxman's FReeper Motel" gratis. Saves some bux, but you may have to sleep on the floor (bring your own blankets, pillows and towels), and take turns with other FReepers using the bathroom.

Best I can do.

So, make the arrangements, and getcherselfdownere! Love to meet you.

Just a reminder what Kristinn said on the other post:

"If they do (cover us), it will be tape delayed."

It's getting chilly here.

I was going to suggest/remind you take plenty of hot coffee.
But, depending on certain logistics, perhaps that's not the most practical idea? ;)

Bump

Chris Core is interviewing the ANSWER spokesman right now. It sounds like they have a worldwide protest planned for tomorrow. Core trying to get the spokesman to commit to his ever defending himself against Saddam and weapons of mass destruction. The spokesman says the real reason for the bombing campaign is to overtake a country and capitalize on its resources. I'd hate to wake up every day with that frame of reference.

Core says the other side is coming up. Must be you!

Core is interviewing Kristinn Taylor of freerepublic.com. Kristinn explaining where our rally will be (4 blocks away) and we expect attendance to be in the 100's because ours is local. Kristinn explains why our side doesn't feel the 'urgent need to come out and demonstrate. Our group wants to come out and show the flag and show support for the bi-partisan view.' Kristinn says the ANSWER man seems to have a higher opinion of Saddam Hussein than he does of George Bush. The rules have changed and our enemies have changed. Containment and deterrance no longer work -- willing to use civilians to meet their goals. North Korea is not being attacked due to 'one war at a time.' Both say thanks and sign off. Core again gives the website address. Nice work, kristinn!

Thanks for the play-by-play. It was a bit shorter than I hoped for, but from listening to Tony Murphy it seems he did a good job of demonstrating the hardcore leftist nature of the ANSWER rally.

Hopefully a few folks who heard our side will come out tomorrow.

What I am trying to say is that the weather is secondary to what will happen on Saturday. We will be there regardless. And if your prediction proves true, I'll gladly give up the dollar bill to you. But I may have to restrain myself from attaching it to some duct tape and affixing it to your ... oh nevermind.

LOL, no need. We're both gonna make a dollar, it does appear. It will be sunny and 60s.

From today's Washington Times

Clashes are not anticipated between anti-war protesters and supporters of Free Republic, a national conservative group, holding a counterrally today on the grounds of the Washington Monument between 14th and 15th streets NW on the Mall.

However, statements published yesterday on a Web site held by Free Republic make clear the ideological gap between the two sets of demonstrators.

The "real message" of the anti-war rally "is that America is an evil nation and should not defend itself against any threats," states the Free Republic Web site (www.freerepublic.com). "They dream of re-living the glory days of the Sixties, when spitting on soldiers and burning the flag were 'cool.'

"As the United States prepares to take the next step in the war on terrorism, we will be gathering to show support for our troops, America and to serve as a patriotic counterpoint to the anti-American leftists," the Web site states.

Free Republic's rally, which starts at 11 a.m., will feature speakers, music and a gathering of supporters carrying American flags. Continue
