An Open Letter To The Person Helping The Washington Sniper
No, this is not directed to the Washington Sniper himself. He will probably be angry that this attention is focused on someone other than him. But, sorry Mr. Sniper, this letter is directed to the person who is going to help this country stop you, and stop you forever.
This letter is specifically for that man or woman who lives near or works with the Washington Sniper. You may not have any conscious thoughts about his guilt, but let me tell you a little bit about him.
1. He drives a car or small truck. It may be that white van you have heard about on television, but those reports may just be coincidence.
2. He either does not work, works a self-directed schedule, or has been absent from work every time the sniper has shot another innocent victim. Think about it. Knowing he was available each and every time another victim was shot can be the greatest clue. Certainly many people have unexplained absences during some or all of the shootings, but the sniper has had to be absent every time someone was shot.
3. He is probably not known to you as a marksman. The shots he has taken have all been easy shots. Dont rule someone out because you dont know they use guns. This man is shooting with the skill anyone could learn in an hour.
Forget about everything else. Disregard all the contradictory psychobabble you hear from the inane experts on television. He may be a cold, calculating criminal. He may be a psychotic. He may be the typical angry white male. He may be an Islamic bent on creating more terror. He may simply be doing this to collect a ransom, but there is no way to know for sure.
Concentrate on everything you do know for sure. He drives. He was absent when each and every killing occurred. When you limit it to those simple clues about opportunity, a name just might emerge. Not every person you know who meets that criteria will be the sniper, but the sniper must meet those criteria to have killed the people he has.
Heres why we need your help. We dont know who the killer is, and he will kill again until we catch him. We dont know who he is, but you do! As much as the killer must be one in 10 million people living in the DC metroplex, you, the person who knows who he is, lives here too.
As much as the police dont know who the sniper is, they dont know who you are either. You must come forward. If you dont, think how embarrassed you will be when he is caught and everyone asks why didnt you report what you knew. If you do report your suspicions, and police catch him, you could earn a huge reward.
We need to catch this killer before copycat snipers for hire begin to rain terror on other cities.
Each of asked what we could do to stop the next 9/11. Report this man now and you will be a hero for years to come.

Concentrate on everything you do know for sure. He drives. He was absent when each and every killing occurred. It is highly unlikely that most people could use these two facts to narrome things down to even just a few people. How many of us know whether or not our neighbors are at workEven among co-workers, the number of those which you can say with certainty were or were not present at the time of a killing is minimal.
If we limit the search only to people with flexible schedules, outside jobs or absent from work at thoe specific times of each killing, we aren't really eliminating that many people.
The guy has shown he is meticulous in his planning. I am fairly certain he has his bases covered pretty well.

M-16 on the bus?

Not so sure about perfect planning. Know at least two mistakes he has made (not for posting here.)
Randomness in offensive action is very effective, but not great "planning."
To: MindBender26
Unless there are two or three shooters -- in which case each could have an alibi for at least one shooting.
Or the shooter could be a foreign import brought in for the job, someone who doesn't work, has no roots in the community other than his support cell.

M-16 on the bus?Or a contender in a briefcase on the bus? Or bicycle? or Taxi? Or walking? Or take down rifle of some sort in a grocery bag full of groceries in any of these circumstances? I could assume any of these situations just as easily as assuming he drives. Seems that some agents have assumed that he wouldn't be calling the tips hotline. Assumptions are dangerous. They get people killed.

Sounds like a schedule a night maintenance worker could easily keep without missing work.

But if you do make a report and it turns out not to be the sniper you will be ridiculed mercilessly by the media. And if you report anybody but a white male, you better go into hiding.

Thank you for your efforts by starting this thread. With all due respect, how can we positively state that we know this killer drives? The white vans/panel trucks could be a coincidence or something the killer waits for before shooting. The one witness that stated he saw the shooter step out of the van, shoot, and get back in has been charged with giving false testimony. As a previous poster mentioned, he could be using a Thompson Contender (easily concealed under clothing) and simply walking off or riding a bicycle from the scene.

With exception to #8 which happened at 2:30 PM, all shootings were either fairly early in the morning, or late in the evening. I think people may be erroniously assuming the guy works full time or has a job where he is not in an office all day. He could simply be a part time employee as well.

I wonder why the servers were down in the DC area yesterday.
To: templar
May have been using the bus for transportation and the Bus Driver was the only one who could identify him.
To: Quilla
He is driver because:
No public transit would get to so many areas so fast on multiple shooting days.
Taxis keep records. A face is attached to a fare.
Bike: 160 miles as a standout?
