INCIDENT: Johnson, a bus driver, was fatally shot in the chest in Silver Spring, Maryland. Connection unconfirmed but shooting not far from the scenes of several previous sniper attacks.

Sounds like a schedule a night maintenance worker could easily keep without missing work.

With exception to #8 which happened at 2:30 PM, all shootings were either fairly early in the morning, or late in the evening. I think people may be erroniously assuming the guy works full time or has a job where he is not in an office all day. He could simply be a part time employee as well.

I'd start looking at bankers. With the exceptions of Oct 3rd and 4th (took the third off and did his work at lunch on Friday the 4th) all the shots have been taken before or after regular banking hours....Then again most of the shots were taken during rush hours (again excepting the 3rd and 4th).
