Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

FOX news reporting that Sniper requested 10 million dollar be transferred to *stolen* credit card account. Seems like Sniper is screwing around with the Police.
I guess police leaked this info so public won't think they are jeopardizing the public by not complying to the sniper.

some lucky person should have bought a lottery ticket that day They say the chances of getting struck by lighting is better then getting shot by sniper. Only problem is that most people know to stay in doors during thunderstorms.

Did y'all see the tripe Howard Finneman of MSDNC wrote about President Bush:
Dismiss this as special pleading if you want, but I have a question for the president as the snipers murder toll reaches 10 in our region and my kids are huddled indoors after school instead of being at Little League or tennis practice: Why in this crisis havent I heard more from you and seen more action from your crime-busting, terrorism-fighting White House? I thought providing Homeland Security is what your presidency is about.

Perfect example of how the written word on forums can be misunderstood. Actually when I re-read Howlin's post, her message was quite clear and I agree with what she said about the media. I just misread it first time around.

They are still detaining the 2 undocumented workers they picked up near Richmond. Only one of the 2 men was in a white van at a phone booth when arrested. What were the circumstances of the other fellow that he was arrested nearby? What was the probable cause for the arrest? Did the sniper set these guys up?
I think that it was more than an unfortunate coincidence that these guys were there and got "popped" by a premeditated onslaught of federal and state law enforcement. Reports are that the guy who placed the calls has an accent and broken written English. So,is the thought that he is hiding within an immigrant population?
After the media-drenched arrest of these two followed by Moose's immediate cryptic dismissal of its significance, the authorities have continued the detention. Inquiring minds might want to know more... Should restaurants, gas stations and car washes in the area be canvassed for erratic, disgruntled employees?

I guess that makes us all Freeper fishpun groupers. I would stop punning but I can't Kelp myself. I do thank Justhe for opening up the fish puns although some might think it a gaff I for one think it has netted a great many chuckles on an otherwise very sad thread.

Wings says they are searching for something radioactive on that airplane.

I sent Howard an email and told him his children were his responsibility that President Bush was too busy to be his nanny.
