Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

do search for seller or buyer and put in SNIPER then click his "me" page and wait... the screen will jump around. I think he has some type of javascript built into his "me" page that makes it jump like it does. It is just odd that all, everyone can put their tinfoil hats away ;-)

Seems like Moose and company think the Sniper could
be hiding within one of the tight-lip Illegal Immigrant communities. I think the arrest in Richmond of the two Illegals shows something.
To: yukong
do you think that the killer has been using the same vehicle for all shootings? I like your reasoning and I am trying to work this out in my head. Also, do you think that with so many different LEO's involved that maybe even an ex-cop might be able to blend?
It should be: "Any illegal immigrant who provides us with information will be granted immunity and it will be arranged for you to recieve a green card if your information is deemed credible."
I think all of us would be happy to welcome this person to the ranks of American for turning in the perp.

Douglas Duncan an official from Montgomery County just stated on national TV:
"WE DON'T CHECK IMMIGRATION STATUS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY! WE TAKE CARE OF ALL PEOPLE.
What if the perp actually turned out to be someone that happened to be here illegally!
This statement in my opinion was totally unbelievable!

Good points.
I'd give some weight to the shooter having had time in the area and on many routes.
Possibly was a bus driver, a limo driver, a taxi driver, a short-haul freight driver, or a member of a protection services team ... over the many back roads (as well as main roads) of Northern Virginia --- in the quadrangle from Winchester, VA to Lancaster, PA to Annapolis, MD to Petersburg, VA.
The shooter knows most of the back roads and very well.
The Northern Virgina area is full of protection services personnel and transport; they know how to get around; many of them are the support people for Middle-Eastern powers (gov't and private).
I would not underestimate the infiltration of this avenue, so to speak, by a terrorist, foreign or domestic.

It was reported that she had *not* been involved in working the sniper case.
And if she had been involved, don't you think that's exactly what they would tell us?
Just passing on the fact of a report. You are, of course, free to stretch in any direction you wish. :)

Tinfoil hat on! You've accidently stumbled on one of AQ's secret methods of communication - they're using eBay to transfer funds and messages!!! Of course they are haven't you ever hear of eBin? ;-)

"You've accidently stumbled on one of AQ's secret methods of communication - they're using eBay to transfer funds and messages!!!"
LOL!!! :) Though actually, when I heard about the sniper's "electronic" demand, I did wonder about the possibility of terrorists using PayPal to transfer funds, for real...
To: yukong
Right. Besides, someone dressed as a policeman or Rescue/EMT person leaving the area immediately afterwards would attract attention.

Your missing something .....they are not answering these questions for a reasonI know. But what they are doing isn't working very well either.
They don't want to release anything, like the name and picture of the French suspect, or the actual handwriting.
What are they afraid of? Because the sniper says if they do, he'll shoot someone?
That's like Hamas saying, you target our leaders, we'll blow something up.
They do look very worried. It's like having the weight of the world on our shoulders.

Could one of you please start the thread for me tomorrow morning? I just found out the stop-over President Bush is making in SC is earlier than I'd originally thought and I will be leaving early in the morning. Friday I can pick the thread up again (and Thursday night spend hours catching up on all the news). Freepmail me if you can to let me know one of you can start the thread tomorrow a.m. Thank you.

Mont County is
60% white
15% black
12% hispanic
11% asian
In the closer-in areas, even moreso minority/immigrant population.
Unusual, itinerant, unsteady character could blend in easily since alien cultures and customs are not viewed conspicuously.

punctuation is your friend !
(a good explanation of the following is also available in the 'help' section at the bottom of each posting page)
<br> = line break
<p> = paragraph break
(no need to close either of those tags)
without formatting, we all look like we're using amphetamines ...

Thank you so much for the heads up! All good possibilities - to which I would only add the possibility that he never actually leaves the crime scene, but hides the weapon and then blends in with the crowd. A careful review of video coverage might help to eliminate that possibility though.

I noticed that comment as well. I can't say that I'm surprised that they don't check status. It seems to be PC to allow as many illegals that want to to come in without any fear of being sent back, or any sort of punishment at all. This is part of the problem. As the illegal immigrant population grows, and it is growing larger every day, the percentage of unsolved crimes will also grow. Illegal immigrants will not come forward as witnesses because they fear being sent back to their own country. It is all related but the liberals that want to continue this policy are doing so at everyones expense. My take from the news conference just held is that the police feel that the sniper is an immigrant and are begging for other immigrants who may know something to come forward.

My question is where did that "fact" come from? Is that what was in the sniper's "letter?" If so, I'll wait to hear that from a credible source.
But as for your thought about the trainees, I can agree with that, if it's true that they were novices.
