Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

My brain hurts too....I'm heading off to bed to listen to Art Bell. At least that might make some sense :-)

superstitious cricketers consider duck -- another term for a score of zero -- a very bad omen.

God draws you by kindness that may appear like the anger of a noose.
The Duck is too content with water to seek the Simurgh
In the fifth book of the Masnavi Rumi included several stories to illustrate why one should cut down the duck of gluttony... The story of how Muhammad converted a glutton who drank the milk of seven goats and then made a mess after being locked in a room shows the humility of the prophet in cleaning up the mess himself. Which is more cryptic? What moose said or this quote from Islam?
To: All
Won't Moose and the LEAs feel bad and have egg on their faces if it turns out that the messages that they have been relating to the media, that the shooter demanded that they read turn out to be codes to other cells, and now sleepers awake, and begin reigns of terror all over the country? Can you image the fallout for the LEAs?

Good night, Darlin'. And thanks for all of your input!

Just listening what Moose had to say tonight one could draw the speculation that the 2 perps being discussed are NOT the Killers but rather 2 bounty hunters that actually caught the real Killer(s) and are holding out for more money. I'm only going by what Moose literally said. I'll be the first to admit it's probably flat out wrong.

OK, now I'm really going to bed. If lucky, I'll get about 5 hours of sleep.

NRCA ADVISES THAT DUCK SHOOTING IS PROHIBITED IN JAMAICA

The Duck is too content with water to seek the Simurgh
In the fifth book of the Masnavi Rumi included several stories to illustrate why one should cut down the duck of gluttony, the cock of concupiscence, the peacock of ambition and ostentation, and the crow of bad desires. The story of how Muhammad converted a glutton who drank the milk of seven goats and then made a mess after being locked in a room shows the humility of the prophet in cleaning up the mess himself. He concluded that the infidels eat with seven bellies but the faithful with one. The peacock catches people by displaying itself. Pursuing the vulgar is like hunting a pig; the fatigue is extensive, and it is unlawful to eat it. Love alone is worth pursuing, but how can God be contained in anyone's trap? Who knows?
Just wanted to save this.

I wish we had more clues. But then the sniper would have them also.

Another version of the folk lore...
The Rabit, the Otter, and Duck Hunting. As told by The Warrior based on James Mooney
another version...
The Rabbit Goes Duck Hunting
Another...
Rabbit Goes Duck Hunting
Another...
The Rabbit Goes Duck Hunting
And this at...
http://www.telliquah.com/cherokee.htm The rabbit played a prominent role in the Cherokee myths. It was always a trickster and deceiver, usually malicious and often beaten at his own game, and by those he intended to victimize. Cherokee legends are full of rabbit stories. "The Rabbit goes Duck Hunting," "How the Rabbit Stole the Otters Coat," "Why the Possums Tail is Bare," "How the Wildcat Caught the Gobbler," (which includes the Rabbit begging for his life by saying, "Im so small, I would make only a mouthful for you, but if you let me go Ill show you where you can get a whole drove of Turkeys." (Mooney p. 270) This is the same story that was used in the Uncle Remus story of the Rabbit begging not to be thrown into the briar patch. The Cherokee story of "The Rabbit and the Tar Wolf" is the origin of the Uncle Remus story of the Tar Baby. In the Cherokee story of "The Rabbit Dines the Bear," we have the origin of the love-hate relationship between Brer Rabbit and Brer Bear. Cherokee stories were a treasure house for Native Americans, Negro slaves, and eventually for Joel Chandler Harris who wrote the "Uncle Remus" stories. The Cherokee story, "How the Terrapin Beat the Rabbit," taught a very basic lesson of life. That lesson was repeated by the Cherokee Chief, John Ross, in a letter to his son in l865. Ross wrote that in the long run, it is the slow and steady pull that accomplishes the most in life.
I will post more information if I find it about this Legend/Folklore - Brigette

FNC just replayed Moose's press briefing.
I caught something this time that I didn't notice the first time around. Just before Moose started the message portion of his briefing, he paused and actually had an almost pained look on his face. It appeared to me that Moose did not want to release the sniper's "duck" statement. His facial expression conveyed almost severe angst. Could it be that Moose is also concerned about coded messages?

Same here---too much cable news, typing and trying to keep up with this thread! We have some smart Freepers here.
'Nite y'all...prayers.

Would this fit the decoy idea? From my post earlier.
Had a thought though. Perhaps they have someone in custody already? What ever happened with the second vehicle they were looking for after the rifle was pointed at the school bus?
Maybe they did get someone, but there is a second person involved? The person Moose is addressing is the second person. The sniper is caught like a duck in a noose. It's important that you hear this... because this means the sniper/partner is out of commision, so the second person may as well turn themself in, or carry on alone, I guess.
I kind of wonder if John Mohammad and the step son ARE the shooters. Mohammad with military background = head shots. The 16 year old step son, the abdominal shots???
Maybe after the media blabbed about saying 'persons of interest' just to get to talk to LE... Moose may have been forced to issue warrants and forget about 'persons of interest' ploy?
Anyway, just theorizing.

"7. Some rescue agencies and government departments have a gun that fires a net.The net spreads out over an area as it drops to the ground and traps the bird within."Interesting.

I noted his expression too. Not only pained, but very nervous.
