All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

msnbc left, then came back, showing traffic, saying a lot of police activity going on, rush hour anyway, and this makes it worse. Police out there with heavy arms doing searches of some vehicles on 270.

WTOP reporter at the Rockville police task force HQ said that they clearly heard what sounded like a gunshot within earshot of the reporters on site...and cops I assume

Is this anywhere near I270???

If not .. these reporters might want to be extra careful

MSNBC is reporting that I270 is NOT shut down but that police are stopping some vans/trucks are random

OMG if he pops a newsperson there will be NO END to the caterwauling. They will make that person into a hero, martyr, saint. Perhaps moving documentaries about that persons relentless pursuit of the news. While it would be satisfying if he nailed one, the resultant gush would be beyond nauseating.

I dunno; I haven't heard that much from the media about Daniel Pearl lately. However, that was clearly done by Islamic terrorists, so the media's natural bias might be kicking in a little there in keeping his murder quiet...

I hope to hell the school bus driver got a plate number or a partial plate number. And I hope it was a school bus that had a video camera inside--it might also catch vehicles in & around the bus.

Why are they transporting the children on school buses is the question? This is the most stupid thing I have heard.

I know mine would not be on a school bus at this time. I would feel as though I was sending my child to the slaughter. I am so mad about this.

Some people work and their kids have to get home somehow. The best way is schoolbus. Not everyone can pick up and drive their kids to school.

I agree. If this comes to pass, we need to make sure that the appropriate actions are taken. Lord willing, it won't be needed. But I'm not hopeful, and don't think we've got long to wait.

Then don't send your child to school, and don't go to work if you need to be home with them. You can get another job, and your child can continue their education. But you can replace your child. Besides some businesses are shut down there.
