Good post. I agree. Regardless of the spelling errors, that's a very sobering article and worth consideration. I suspect it's right on the mark.

The guy is probably a teacher in the NEA. Unless his assertions are false: There are 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S., so long as that remains the case, terrorism will remain. The most important element to a war on terrorism outside of preventing more potential terrorists from entering the U.S., is tracking down, detaining, and deporting these intruders... seems to be good policy.

Fine. With enough such positive posts, I went back and tried to finish the article. Then I came across...

There are 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S., so long as that remains the case, terrorism will remain.

Unmitigated bigoted bull$#!^. Large numbers of illegal immigrants have nothing to do with terrorism ("unrestricted warfare"). The last several terrorists, on the whole, have been LEGAL immigrants or CITIZENS. (A few may have been marginally illegal - a _few_.) 11 million illegal aliens are not the problem - ONE LEGAL alien (or homegrown sociopath) can bring a nation of cowards to its knees.

Just because some bigoted ignorant moron manages to say a few obvious things doesn't mean they're worth listening to. I still can't finish the article.

Okay. The author's errors are not a problem for me. I think the points made about unrestricted warfare are interesting and to me, were worth reading.

How then do you distinguish errors & absurdities from valid insights?

is was illegal aliens that blew up the World Trade Center.

Sloppy. They were here legally, and they didn't "blow up" the WTC.

Otherwise, he makes some good points.

Except that it wasn't the author's error. See post #7.

Sounds like a convenient excuse to suspend civil liberties to me.

First, we need to outlaw white vans and box trucks..then all guns..

All joking aside, the current "sniper shootings" is a textbook example of what I've been thinking all along. A dedicated group of shooters placed around the US hitting targets of opportunity at the same time would put people in a panic frenzy (not to mention the media)

While your worried about SPELLING

Most of the time spelling errors are irrelevant. there, their, and they're is common and understandable. Sometimes, though, they can be a keen indicator of ignorance. The difference between guerrilla and gorilla is profound, especially in an article which supposedly explores the nature of irregular warfare - the very definition of guerrilla. Sort of like misspelling Shakespeare when discussing the Bard: one simply could not be taken seriously, and for good reason.

real people are being gunned down

While you're worried about TOLERANCE, real people are being gunned down. You're wasting time giving credibility to someone who is plainly & demonstrably an ignorant bigot. There's an awful lot of clueless people babbling; the author of the above article is plainly one of them.

People who think the evil ones are not working on a coordinated attack on the U.S. are living in a dream world. They are looking at the sniper situation, anthrax, and other methods to shut our economy down. How about anthrax on money? They are laughing at how easy it would be. They want to kill us. Some people just don't get it yet.

No panic here-most American's are just plain p*ssed off. As usual the liberal media wimps, try to paint all of us with the liberals yellow paint brush. This is just one more cause of death to be faced and dealt with. People who live in high crime areas have long ago adjusted to living their daily lives under much greater threat of sudden and unexpected violent death.

People who live in high crime areas have been adjusted to being unable to really fight back.

If a drive-by shooter was answered with a hail of bullets that turned the vehicle into a collander, there would be darn few drive by shootings.>[?I have stunned some friends by stating that I have no problem with the idea that if the gun control laws didn't exist, every black might have a gun ; and hopefully every white, red, yellow, and brown person too. As I remind people the bad guys are already carrying guns, it is only the good guys who are likely to be arrested solely for being preepared to defend themselves and theirs.

If the people in the vicinity of the sniper were armed ,then they could have long ago stopped him ; instead they can only "run in a zig-zag fashion".
