Thank you! I strongly suspect this is a sampling (much like the anthrax attacks) - to see how the U.S. will react to sniper terror in its security stronghold in the D.C. area. It strikes me as too cold blooded and too attentive to detail to be a hot-head or lone gunman.

And yet there hasn't been an anthrax attack in more than a year. But there have been no arrests, no suspects, and no solid leads in that case.

I still haven't moved from my original Beevis and Butthead theory of whacked out Ritalin/Paxil serial killers.

Next on my list would be the al Fuqra thugs. The home grown thugs, many of whom were recruited in prison by the black muslims. We have thousands of replies and posts on Free Republic about these al Fuqra groups in America. A common theme in their American encampments were firing ranges. The firing ranges were not used for training to shoot ducks or rabbits.

Next would be a deep al Qaeda cell with one or two trained snipers and four others to help them. The danger to al Qaeda, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia if an al Qaeda cell did this and word got out in America. The atomic bombing of Japan would be mild to what we would demand and get!

Last but not least this could be a Merc financed team, financed by some crazy who hates America and not necessarily a Islamofascist.

Regardless of who, what race, religion or political bent or whatever re the responsibility. Now the al Qaeda leadership knows how to really terrorize America with a few well placed sniper terrorist teams with a couple of home growners who know the roads in and around a Goron voting area with PC mayors and police chiefs.

Well, I sort of agree. The Great Satan believes -- and has persuaded me -- that the anthrax is a threat aimed at our leaders meant to deter an attack on Iraq (it's conceivable it's meant to deter something else.) I think the sniper shootings are the same, a limited attack containing a warning of much more and aimed at deterrence.
